The tech folks formatted it for me and it has been flawless in backing up my iMac using Time Machine. Happy with my purchase.

I had this for only a week but love it very much. The drive is smaller than expected (which is good). I use its encryption to store all my personal documents. I have not used more than 10 GB yet but the drive seems to be very fast. Very Happy.

It's a WD drive, in my opinion the best HDD maker (not making any claims about SSDs because I have much less experience with them). This drive supplements an existing drive that is full. It's the maximum size supported by my DVR.

Highly recommend the portable USB WD hard drives for backing up your computer. I know some of our files are stored in the cloud, but this is a good local copy that can ensure you have everything. Works fine on Mac, Windows and even ChromeBooks.

We needed an external drive to hold information from computers we were eliminating. We are putting all info from 2 old computers and smart drives that we have info on. Also all the extra photos that take up a lot of room. It works great!

This drive will save your data as you need it to when you need it to. It will save quickly but not as quickly as the black or the red one, I believe that is why it is priced lower than the blue and red one. I think the red one has a hidden boost for speed and that is why the same product costs more for the red one than the blue one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have around 6 of these drives currently in use for backup and have only had one fail in the last 5 years. Best feature that they are USB powered and do't need an external electrical outlet, like the MyBook series.

i love this hard drive. It's compact, stores a lot, and a wonderful value.

you can either choose files to manually backup with copy/paste or drag and drop; or you can just install the included WD backup software which, with one click, will start an auto-backup from which you can later do a complete data restore.

I have a few of these. One totally for photos, another for embroidery design and on and on. They are of great value to store in order to free up your computer.

Happy with this purchase. I have an older computer that does some funky stuff and it worries me about failing. This is perfect for the thousands of pictures that I want to keep safe. Love the color and size, I can find it easily.

It has tons of room. I did not install the software that came with it, but it was for cloud access and I did not want my information passed around the internet and dark web. It works just fine as a plug and play hard drive with lots of room.

Have all my Family pictures and videos saved on this so if anything where to happen to my laptop my memories will never be lost didn’t want to pay for extra cloud memory so I invested on this one time thing with my own password to access

This hard drive works great. I have it in my van to play videos. Would buy another

I needed a drive for a gamer kid. Needed it to be simple and work. This was perfect. The fact that it came in a fun blue was a bonus. I have used WD drives before. My expectations were high. My expectations were met. 'Nuf said.

Secure feeling knowing everything is backed up to a quality product!

Followed installation instructions found on internet search for Time Machine on Macs, which say do not use what WD tells you to do. Install was easy with no problems. Gave 4 stars as not had to do a restore yet from the My Passport drive. Seems to be working fine with no problems with daily backups using Time Machine. Have been using for about 3 weeks.

Purchased a 2nd external drive as backup protection. Had one of these a few years back and it was bumped off my desk and stopped working. This way I store files on both of my external hard drives to ensure I do not loose any data.

I love the these come in different colors so that I know which one I have certain things stored on it. It is a must to back up precious photographs and other important documents. Don't trust it to a cloud.
