Bought this for a backup drive for a laptop. Speeds on this thing are around 230-250 MB per sec. Runs cool and quite and the connector is nice and tight. Doesn't just fall out or loose like my old Seagate backup drive.

Good hard drive for backing up important things. It's very fast much faster than my old generation desk tower hard drive.. Very nice style. Red is nice very easy to spot if u can't find it. Got this on a deal on the website saved me 10 bucks.

We needed an external drive to hold information from computers we were eliminating. We are putting all info from 2 old computers and smart drives that we have info on. Also all the extra photos that take up a lot of room. It works great!

Reasonably priced Hard drive with 2 TB that is sturdy.

There is a ton of data on it from the data recovery. The problem I have is that I am not a Geek Squad agent. I could find no instructions as to how to put the data, files, etc. into my new (replacement) laptop. It cost me $600+ for the data recovery service, but now what do I do to be able to use it

Plug and play ease! I bought it for my outdated PS4 and it worked perfect. No more deleting games to update and re-download. Exactly what I needed.

External drive is easy to use and save or transfer items.

Followed installation instructions found on internet search for Time Machine on Macs, which say do not use what WD tells you to do. Install was easy with no problems. Gave 4 stars as not had to do a restore yet from the My Passport drive. Seems to be working fine with no problems with daily backups using Time Machine. Have been using for about 3 weeks.

HANDY HD, with good speed. I use 1TB as back-up for my MacBook Pro and 1TB for other storage.

The drive is a mechanical drive inside a sealed case. If you will be transferring a lot of data (dozens of gigabytes and/or thousands of files) it will get hot. I put a little fan on it during those times. Works with all common file systems, just may need reparationing and formatting.

A little pricier than it should be for only 2TBs, but can't complain that much. Where else are you going to get a decent hard drive quickly these days in person when you need it? If you have time order online. But it's a dependable drive. Good for everyday storage tasks.

Bought this as a backup for a business computer. It works exactly as it says is should. I like that you can program it to backup automatically everyday, since I know I'd forget. Fantastic value for this quality!

We wanted to make sure all our photos were saved, in electronic form. So along with a scanner, this works very well for a photo storage and conversion system. Seems to transfer quickly. And PLENTY of room for all your pics.

you can either choose files to manually backup with copy/paste or drag and drop; or you can just install the included WD backup software which, with one click, will start an auto-backup from which you can later do a complete data restore.

This works perfectly as needed. It runs smoothly and I haven’t had any problems.

I have around 6 of these drives currently in use for backup and have only had one fail in the last 5 years. Best feature that they are USB powered and do't need an external electrical outlet, like the MyBook series.
