This is my second HD from WD, I really like them to be realliable and that they add a security feature. A long time ago I got my backpack stolen and I wish I had security features in that brand.

I've owned many WD drives in the past and they've yet to fail on me. Time will tell if this continues to keep going strong for it's entire warranty period, but so far it's working great.

Much faster than my many other external portable hard drives. Loads without delay and reads/writes almost as fast as the built-in hard drive on my computer. Much better than the old WD books.

Needed to back up a lot of files and pictures. Great on file transfer speed. Only problem has been to "eject" ext. drive. Keeps saying in use, can't eject. I've just unplugged it and it has been fine. I still have over 4 TB remaining so will have plenty of room for the future.

Western Digital has always lasted for mant years with good service.

This drive was bought to back up some large video files from a SSD hard drive. I knew it’d be slow-going, so I had no issues waiting for the files to transfer. Good price to pay for peace of mind.

Excellent external hard drive with easy operations and fast speed.

It was just what I needed! My old external was dropped and I was in panic mode. Thankfully, BB had some in stock. I can always count on Best Buy to have the products that I need!

A good drive. Not the fanciest, but a very good value. I have used it to backup several clients computers while upgrading them. It also gets used to transfer larger files and folders.

I have been an avid Western Digital (WD) enthusiast/purchaser for many years, but lately I have had unsatisfactory results from their products. This HD in particular quit working around 9-10 months of very limited use. It does not initialize anymore and to retrieve the data, a company wants to charge upwards of $1250 just for the beginning of the process, this company was recommended by WD. I am told, if purchased through WD, there is an option to purchase a data recovery plan with them, but not sure how good that would be. I think that because of the limited use and the short amount of time owned, WD or Best Buy should step up to provide data recovery and to replace with a new one at the very least, as this is still under warranty. I have been having better luck with Seagate, so I think I will be transferring over to them after years of dedicated loyalty to WD.

Bought this to use as an external drive for my Ps4. It works great and it downloads surprisingly fast. Well at least faster than the Ps4... Set up was a breeze. Good product and I would buy again

The 5TB External HD is excellent. I have tons of memory for my photos, In addition, I can move this hard drive to my other two computers.
