It seems great from the start! Although after a couple uses the cord wasn't working and it kept saying it's missing a drive.

cheap for the price unsure if it will last but good for know

I bought this for a backup drive using the Acronis True Image that was provided with the drive. I did the first backup of my confidential data, and the next time I powered up the computer the drive clicked three times - looking at the drive on Windows the files were still there so I thought it might be ok. The next time I powered up the computer, it clicked 3 times. So I used Drive Utilities that came with the drive, but the drive was not listed. So I went back to Windows and tried to create a text file on the drive. It responded with hardware error. If I had not done sleuthing it would have been another week until the next backup to discover that the drive was really not working. To shorten the story, I couldn't return the drive for a refund or replacement because it had my data on it. I had to buy a new drive to complete my backup, so I am out $$ for 2 drives. Neither Best Buy nor Western Digital would give me a refund without giving them the drive with the data on it. To ensure the privacy of my data on the drive I have to destroy it. Purchasing this drive has proved to be a negative and costly experience.

I have several WD My Passport drives in varying sizes from 1 TB to 5 TB. I've never had a problem with this purchase or any other one.

Compact portable design for a large storage. fast speed for data transfer. I use it for both MacOS and PC and it works great in both systems.

Great for using with Apple TimeMachine backups. They are a little on the pricey side, but good. Would be nice if it had a USB-C connector.

western Digital is my first choice for backing up my professional image files, and this item appears to do the job well so far.

It works well for storing my information. I do, however, wish searching files on the device processed quicker.

The product is fine, but I'm disappointed because I asked the customer service person on the phone for a drive pre-formatted for Apple. It was not and it was not an uneventful process to get it formatted correctly. So my disappointment is with Best Buy for the unnecessary time and aggravation, not with the product itself.

Great hard drive I have used this for my xbox series x and although it is not nearly as fast as ssds this is great value for the price.

I have purchased 3-4 of these over the years and have had zero issues with them, which is why I bought another one. I can't even use it because it is making me download a program on my computer to run it, then it has made me download two other separate programs for whatever reason. Even after going through all of these ridiculous steps, it still isn't letting me put anything on the hard drive. I have never had this issue before, and I have never had to download anything before other than the WD discovery app, If I buy an external hard drive, I want to be able to easily save things to it without having to go through a million steps, and this is not that. I wish I was within the return timeframe because I'd like to get my money back, but I'm just going to throw away this piece of junk since it doesn't work.
