I have 3 passports. 5T, 2T and another 1t. All had catastrophic failures. I ended having to send to a recovery my 5T and fortunately they recovered about 98% of data. Cost of recover was just shy of 1300.00 and a 15T MY book for another 200 plus. Apparently to recover you have to go this process. AllPassports were less than 1 to 3 years and per the experts expect these to last around 5 years. Positive: When the devices are operational they are easy to navigate and perform well.

Most TV's need the hard drive formatted to mbr to work. I do have it hooked to an android box and I can use it formatted to GBR and get the full 5tb. Still a good hard drive for WD.

I had to return this one I think because it wasn’t allowing me to do a back up but I still recommend these. It’s worth having multiple back ups.
