Great storage in a compact size. Not too large like a hard drive and not too small and easily misplaced like a micro SD.

This external drive is very sturdy, and has handled the back-pack abuse I've put it through so far. It does tend to heat up a bit when left plugged in for the day, but that might be normal. Also runs lightning quick on my ThinkPad P17.

This is my second one. I use them to backup my data. Both of them have very good quality and perform quite well. I was a fun of Seagate, but now WD beats Seagate in all aspects.

I am really enjoying the experience of using this drive. I like the extra peace of mind that enabling hardware encryption gives. Now I don’t have to worry about losing the drive and some rando gaining access to personal information. I’m sure it’s not proof from a dedicated hacker but should foil any normal person. The transfer speed is good. I’ve got USB3 on my laptop and the drive is USB3. Writing to it I get about 120MB/s which is fine for a spinning disk. I haven’t done any read speed tests but I have not noticed any issues there. Read speed is typically better anyway. For the cost and size this is an excellent purchase.

I was looking for a single storage device. I have over 55,000 photos and videos on 22 flash drives. Having everything on one device has allowed me to organize folders a lot easier.

The drive was an easy plug and play. The PS4 just formatted it the way it needed to be and the games are now all saved on the drive and I was able to free up all the space on the PlayStation

I love this drive it is perfect for backing up all of my files on the go!
