This is our second identical unit and everything is great so far. Needed external hard drives for our macs and these are super easy... just plug and set up time machine. Too easy and takes up little desk space.

It's not easy to review something that is best if unnoticed nearly all the time. I believe in the importance of this redundant cautionary technology--and WD is a reliable brand. It has a small blue light that blinks on/off to let you know that it's plugged in and trapping your every move on the computer. I bought it on store staff recommendation and have since purchased another one for a second computer. However, I've had no need or occasion yet to retrieve backed up information. I'm generally confident in the advice I get from store staff--especially from Geek Squad staffers. I am using Apple rated units on Apple products.

Great way to offload documents and images from my mac. Very easy to use from the box. Is not compatible with PC out of the box - you would have to reformat.

They just simply work right. Easy to plug-n-play and ready to go. 1TB is plenty of room to use as backup. Seems to be pretty fast as well. Great buy!
