2TB is more than enough space to store RAW files and the finished edits.

Before buying a new laptop I needed to switch over my data and this hardrive was a great fit. Enough space for not an insane price (like a few years ago). It's compact, easy to use for Mac users, and comes with simple, but needed encryption/password protection. I'm very confident in this hard drive.

Bought one of these for my daughter who just graduated dental school. Great for quickly backing up or storing. holds 2T of data, is smaller than other competitive sized units and is convenient to carry around with your laptop. Very reasonably priced 2T unit. Al

I purchased this hard drive as an expansion storage for my 13" MacBook Pro 2015 which only has 128 gb of storage. I was just going to use it as a storage device but I decided to install El Capitan OS software in it. After that I migrated all my MAC info including apps and everything into it so I can work from it and use it as another computer. It will use my MacBook Pro memory, processor and display so I can work on my video editing software Final Cut Pro X. Doing it like that I can work on large files with out worry that my storage is going to get full and slow down the computer. My hard drive has work with out a glitch and I've ensured to buy another one to keep up to date copies of all my work and memories. It doesn't matter how good your drive is, everything fails with time. I highly recommend you buy always two or more. Shelf life as a rule of thumb is about 5 years, I had drives for longer than that with no issues but why risk so much precious information. Besides, they get cheaper with time for higher storage capacity. Another good reason to buy an extra hard drive is in case you lose the original or it gets stolen, your memories and valuable information are not completely lost. So whatever your need is, this is a great investment and addition to your computer, video recorder, camera etc.

I was looking for a portable hard drive that I could use to save all my macbook pictures prior to making a hard operating system update. Initially I considered the ITB model and the sales person pointed out that the 2TB model was on sale and a better value and could be used as a time machine as well. Made sense to me and have been very happy with the advice and purchase.

I needed a new computer and on my old computer I had added a bigger hard drive. Did not have time to wait for a special order computer. I bought the regular version and decided to keep everything on the passport. It works great. Holds a lot of data etc. Glad I went this route this time.

For the price one cannot beat the small size (fits in safe deposit), the speed, and storage capacity for private use and it is quite. I have three and swap them to the safe deposit box periodically. No matter what happens I always have my data and photos. USB 3.0 is plenty adequate for speed for this amount of storage. Don't waste money on Thunderbolt.

With the main data drive crashing and in need of a quick fix, this WD drive was a great help. The drive performs well with USB 2.0 (unable to test 3.0). The drive is quiet during use, but tends to heat up if prolonged more than 3 hours of intense data transfer (since rarely an occurrence, okay for normal usage). The form factor is great for portability, having to switch between my Mac desktop and Windows laptop.

I purchased the Passport for MAC to do a one-time backup of my Dell desktop as I transitioned to using my Macbook Pro full time. The Passport worked well for backing up my PC, and now it's the full-time backup for my MAC. Plenty of storage with the 2 TB Passport, and easy to use with Time Machine. Highly recommend!

this hard drive fits anywhere,very easy to install and for the price I paid it is well worth it.

This drive is the perfect size as well as having a massive amount of file storage. I use it with Carbon Copy Cloner to do my back-ups for my Mac Book Pro. I love the ease of use. Plenty of room for everything.

I have more than a few of these. I use them on the road to download SD and CF camera cards and move photographs from camera to computer. They don't require external power, which makes them ideal for the road warrior's laptop bag. And they are reliable. [Knock on wood]

Before taking my MacBook Pro to Apple for possible hard drive replacement I was asked to download everything onto a flash drive, what?? Although using a computer daily in my career it was shocking to find how little knowledge I possessed re. the workings. Did some fast research online and made my choice as the appointment was the next day. Best Buy was so helpful and notified me the same day for pick up. Got home, WD insert referred me to their website which included 32 page instructions with every possible scenario, chose one and hoped I did it correctly. Apple store confirmed it downloaded perfectly, complemented me on my choice and sent my computer for new hard drive. Loading it back up was a breeze for this non tech-savvy individual.

This external hard drive was just perfect for my Mac. I was looking for something small I could throw in my purse back and forth from the office and this fit the bill. Great amount of storage plus small.

Very easy to set up, just plug into computer and follow the prompts. I love the size of the device and the storage it has. I am very happy with Western Digital!

Small, compact, affordable....just what you want in a back-up device. This is my third, but all are under 1 year old. Time will tell, but I have high hopes.

I've been putting home photos and videos on large 132 GB USB sticks. They fill up before you know it and 3.0 or 2.0 are not all that fast downloading, especially videos. I purchased this 2TB 3.0/2.0 portable hard drive and am set for a long, long time. It's loading time/speed from my MAC is instantaneous . I should have purchased this hard drive to begin with.
