Great product to backup work on my Mac… Really handy to back up my book & store precious photos

It’s great if you have a Mac and refuse to pay for a subscription to have storage. Would recommend.

Got this as a back up drive for my Mac. Plugged it in, the computer immediately recognized it and they’ve been humming together ever since. Small size is easy to stash near the computer but out of the way. Not much to say-it does what it’s supposed to easily.

The Passport worked as advertised, although I did have to take off the solicitation that uploaded.

Connected to a 2019 iMac for backup with Time Machine and storing larger documents. Connected with UBS C, looks fast enough for a hard drive and the type of content on it. I do not use the encryption features. The drive comes formatted HPFS+ which is compatible with older MacOs version. For Time Machine on latest MacOs version (Monterey), Apple recommends now formatting with APFS, which I did. In that case, you need to create an additional volume on the drive in you also want to store other files. Each volume grows on demand. Having Time Machine separated from other data file makes it much faster to "reinitialize" Time Machine backup if needed (deleting a Time Machine Folder on a shared HPFS+ drive can take days!).

Got this to move files off of my laptop for school to help with memory and processing speed. Has been super helpful and compatible with Mac.

These are the HDD's in the world o always buy the western digital's Passport portable HDD these just keep getting better with time! Fast and even came with a usb type c connect hook it up straight my cell and backup all my data usb 3.1 is really fast a mist have.

I've been using my portable hard drive on a regular basis for over a year to backup my iMac. It's easy to use and provides protection for thousands of photos and a large number of documents I don't want to lose.

I now own 2 of these!! my back drives were getting out dated. It has an amazing speed when backing up on Time Machine backups. The new USB C port makes it even more fast and efficient.

Bought this item for my husband along with his new computer. I find saving items to an external drive is better than saving to the hard drive of the computer. He's loving his gifts. It has made his job so much more efficient.

Works as intended. It was a little difficult finding out how to export files and such onto the device but once it was learned, things were smooth. Decent price as well.

Travel with this all over the world. Great for storage. I even edit videos on this. Just handle with care. Can be fragile

Easy to install & very user friendly. Didn't have any trouble getting it hooked up to network, router, or time machine on my MacBook pro. The software that was included isn't very intrusive either. I'm very happy with this purchase thus far

Fast, easy connection with 16 inch MacBook Pro. Works seamlessly with time machine and allows you to store encrypted or nonencrypted data. Complete backups are quick and easy. The WD Passport is lite and easy to carry in a backpack.

I haven't had this drive long enough to give it a different rating than the one that appears here. So far, it works as represented and without any problems.

Smaller than my other hard drives but twice the space. Easy plug-and-play for my Mac. I have moved files from my old Mac to my MacBook with no problems.
