WD pretty much owns the portable hard drive market so there aren't a ton of choices. Works as described and is pretty fast but boy is thing fragile. While editing in Premier, my laptop fell and it disconnecting from the port, and the outcome was catastrophic. A small common mishap led to paying $1000 to recover the data from the drive. Word to the wise - be EXTREMELY careful with this Ext HD! Back up to another drive, invest in a case, or something to give you peace of mind if and when this thing breaks.

I have been using this external drive to back up my data from macbook, transfer rate really fast. no problem so far. great buy!

Really easy to use and operate. Was able to save all my photos and documents with ease.

I bought the new Mac 16” and had to get this. Best combo and the fact it was Mac ready and I was able to install the WB software. I was able to enjoy full control of the HD. Highly recommend it!

I buy backup drives all the time for my neighbors and customers. Western Digital is an excellent choicer both USB drives and network/NAS drives. Very happy with their reliability and performance!

Fast, large capacity storage for my MacBook Air & occasional iPad Pro devices. 4/5 stars only because I wish WD would not use a proprietary cable for their portable drives, adopt 2 way USB-C like most devices, makes connections much easier

The Mac pro is a plus even though I have entered a new learning curve. Best made it easy to purchase since in part there was someone w/ knowledge to explain - not just sell. I'm working through the credit plan but it looks pretty much straight forward & l'm alive w/ a great tool

Worked fine for my mac and time machine. Had Macbook pro with boated battery, backed up PC. Restored to temp PC then got mine back and restored to that one as well. All good.
