This does what its supposed to do. Price is decent

So there are absolutely no instructions. I had to search on Youtube and found some random guy who told me how it worked. It seemed to back up my computer okay. Of course, I will never know I guess unless I need it, which is the same for all backups. But the problem is, it says on the package password protected. And at no point was I asked to set a password or give a password. I wrote to customer service asking the question and I got a bot-type response that seemed to be cut and pasted from promotional material but not answering my question. So I tried again and got a similar non-sequitur response. So I really don't know. I think they need to improve their customer service and provide instructions.

Got it for a time machine backup on a family member's older MBP. I've had mixed reliability from this brand but it was on sale and the price was right. I have the laptop backed up to the cloud as well. Still, half expecting it to fail soon is not a ringing endorsement, I guess.

This is a very good product and holds a lot of my digital images. The only reason I took 2 stars away is because after the first use I had to replace the cord and adapter it came with that went from the external drive to my new MacBook Pro. It was poorly made and broke after one use. Once I replaced it ($16) with a better adapter it’s been with detail.

This is my second purchase in 6 months. It works well. The first one froze up, got corrupted and couldn’t be reformatted. The conversion cable for USB-C stopped working in a short period of time.
