Great Mac External Drive

It’s the 2TB drive and I partitioned it /2 1TB each and use one for photo storage and the other for Time Machine Backup. This drive requires no external power and just the cord that comes with the drive. Before I boot up the computer I connect via the Thunderbolt 3 port. The drive is working great with no problems.

It was already formatted for Mac and ready for Time Machine, which was nice. I actually partitioned it and use a portion for Time Machine and the rest for miscellaneous storage. It's not as fast as solid state drives that I've used, but for the price, it's worth it.

Great back up for my photos

I do have a second one and back up my photos off line. In the past 10 years I had only one WD stop working on me. I do know they dont last forever, being in electronics I know the risk. So if I get 5 years out of it, thats a win and for the price I paid

Get this Hard Drive

When I bought the MacBook Pro in 2015, I hadn’t realized that the storage was so small that I couldn’t even update it. The WD external hard drive made it possible to move a lot of stuff over from the MacBook, and it has been a reliable backup for it.
