This has been great so far, but in fairness to anyone reading this, we bought it to replace the same one (the 2Gb version) that we had before that lasted a couple years and then just kinda stopped working. We were able to spend $75 and have most of the data recovered from it, but it was junk.

I have several of these and for the most part they are solid. I tend to use external drives on my MacBook Pro in order not to use all my HD space and these do the job. I wish they were thunderbolt equipped but we cannot have everything.

This product requires no extra steps to use, and is a "plug & play" with your Apple IOS computer. It comes with two types of cables (USB and USB-C), which allows for adaptation of connections.

So this is a good drive made by a reputable company. Data storage has gotten a lot cheaper over time.
This “Mac” drive is more expensive than the windows version for no reason. You can plug the windows drive into a Mac and just format it. The windows drive is less expensive but was not in stock at my best buy.
Otherwise it’s great
