Drive completely failed after 45 days! Lost all my documents and backups. And of course Best Buys return window is closed. (unless you purchase a protection plan for $30.00. Which is Extortion!

Honestly I thought this would be a good purchase because it was designed for Mac but I'm still not a fan of the Passport.

Easy to use and very practical. I really love it. it was super easy to install.

When I purchased this item, I thought encryption was optional. But I found out that the encryption software had to be downloaded first, and then "turned off." I was not able to download the software into my MAC without calling on IT Support.

Very nice build quality for the price however I returned the item due to the port into the hard drive. it is an uncommon port with a weird shape and I don't have any other cords like it that I could use instead if mine got lost or broken. I would definitely purchase if it were usb-c

It worked but when my computer was running slow the hard drive crashed and I lost all of my data.

Not a fan of WD products, they don’t have the ease of use that they advertise.

The driver for this product is sketchy. Scenario - if you plug this into a Mac, a pc will not find its driver. Means you have to download a driver to your pc manually. I have used maybe 20 external drives between Mac and pc - this is the first one that has behaved this way.

Must be having software issues. When I put my Mac to sleep or it does it itself, the backup function will not work until I completely turn the Mac off and restart it. I tried the solutions offered by the help desk and they didn't help.

The first one i bought was DOA, so i had to waste my time running back to the store. They swapped it out for free of course so thats why i give 2 stars.

This drive is a piece of junk. Avoid and spend the extra money to get a solid state drive from Samsung. We lost about 600GB of photos. The power supply inside the unit stopped working and restoration to recover the photos would be $600. No way. We just cut our losses and will never purchase a WD again.

Sadly, I want to like this, but it died on my the first time I had a power outage. It’s not very stylish, and doesn’t look or feel that great. Can’t recommend as it isn’t touch enough to even handle a power spike.

Have not got it to work yet! Why can’t you make things that are easy to use for non technical people

I was not a fan of this passport. It is much slower than other storage devices for this gen and it is not compatible with other devices.

This only comes with a c to c cable, while all others have an adapter that comes in tht box. Not ideal for using across multiple devices.

Excellent and easy to use for fast storage really nice

If you have a Mac, don't buy this. Its files disappear from your finder, but when you go to eject the disk, it says you can't because it's in use. If you're going to mount it for short sessions to add some data to store then disconnect, This fancy brick can do that.

Package was "lost" by Best Buy's shipping (OnTrac) and is STILL in limbo. I have contacted customer service multiple times for cancel and refund, they say okay we'll initiate that - and they still give me the runaround - it's in process. etc. Never again!!!

I hate this piece of garbage!!!!! I hate it i hate it i hate it! It does not disconnect or eject when requested in fact i have to completley shut down of I want it to stop, otherwise it will say its disconnected but its not and if i pull the plug it gets an error message on my mac! its loud as hell and takes so much time to backup. It's just awful!!!
