Love this back up drive. It’s small, easy to use. And seems sturdy

I gave this a five star because of the size I am able to store all my photos, lesson plans, teaching materials and so fourth.... I'm amazed there's still so much space left. It really put my mind on ease when I need to store all these important things into it.

From the minute I connected it to my MacBook Pro, it worked well with the Time Machine. It was almost effortless to transfer the contents of my older MacBook Pro to my new one!

Needed this to backup my MAC that needs to go in for repair. I’m not that computer savvy and my husband explained how 4TB was overkill, oh well. I still have no idea what he said. LOL however all my “stuff’s’ on it and it was easy.

Used to Backup my Apple Mac no problems. In connecting and backing up the system recommend for all backup Time Machine.

So far, I am impressed and very happy with the WD - My Passport 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive with Hardware Encryption. I set mine up on my self-built windows-based desktop PC and it couldn’t have been easier to setup and use since all you really have to do is plug it in to your PC. The included USB cable provides the power required to operate the drive and it is nice not having to deal with an additional cable for power. I used to use an old external drive enclosure with old hard drives leftover from old systems for backup purposes but it was large, noisy, and required power from another source. All of these issues have been resolved by this My Passport drive including the sound issue despite the fact that it still uses a mechanical drive.

Great device, fast speed and reliability is on point

I have so many of these Passports for all my machines at home. Why cause they are great and they just work. Nothing wrong with having lots of backup options. Data is so important and most people forget to back it up. Remember "he who laughs last, made a backup"

Fast and easy to set up. I believe the only difference between the MAC drive and the regular is the set up, If the MAC one is not available the regular one would only take a couple more steps, about a minute more.

I bought this to back up my music and video production files and it does exactly what I need it to do. I use a WD-My Passport 2GB for my Time Machine backups, so I knew what to expect. I plugged it in, it mounted on my desktop, and I was using it within three minutes.

Excellent use between ipad pro 12.9 inch and a Lenovo laptop. Need to download special driver for P.C to play nice. Plugs and plays directly into Ipad though with no extra download.

I love this! Great for saving space on your computer. I store everything on this - all projects, pictures, work files, etc. my computer is not clutter with files all over my desktop. I own a MacBook Pro and ideal to store on the external drive. User friendly to use.

Amazing amount of storage in such a small package.

Bought as a backup for a new iMac. Setup was a breeze. My Mac prompted me to reformat the drive and then started running a Time Machine backup. Compact and silent.
