I use this drive to store my photos and videos. As a professional photographer, that means RAW files and lots of them. This drive does yeoman's work, plus it is small and light enough to put in my pocket when on the road with my laptop. No geek here to report data transfer speeds, but it's fast enough that I don't complain.

Lots of lighting fast storage. Perhaps a bit pricy, but for a relatively new technology the “hefty” pricetag isn’t a shock - I paid $150 for the 500gb version. I use it in class and run multiple virtual machines from it concurrently with no issues. Super fast transfer speeds. The device is also rediculously light. Recommended for sure!

Bought this for my new Macbook pro...came with both a USB-C cord and a slip on regular USB adapter so I can use it on all my computers. This is a handy SSD drive because of it's size, easy to keep in my photo bag so I know where it is when I want to transfer my photos onto a secondary drive, fast enough to make short transfer times of a LOT of big files. This is my main backup when I am on the road. No need to worry about jostling an old style 7200 rpm type drive.

WD Passport quality in SSD form

Just as you might expect from the long line of WD Passport product, the SSD is straight-up awesome. It heats up quite a bit, but I think the metallic half-cover is designed as a heat sink of sorts. Plugged in and worked without any issues for Android OTG (Samsung Galaxy S8) and Mac OS. Very fast. Only been using less than a week, so consider this review in that context.

I was looking for a high capacity item to free up space on my hard drive, but I didn't want several thumb drives, and I didn't want something I had to power. The answer: Western Digital portable hard drive! Wow. It's really fast and compact, and has more space than my current hard drive. Couldn't be happier!

Fits in console of my truck easily and put about 500gb of high res music on it. It’s fast also and being a SSD should handle the road vibrations.

I haven't tested the actual throughput, but I'm running multiple VMs off of it without an issue. FIle copies often break 300MB/s. It's relatively compact and the USB C to USB C cable is awesome for use with my new laptop.

A bit pricey but very much worth it! Easy to set up- just plug it into your USB port. Fast transfers and the hard drive has no moving parts so it should last much longer then a regular hard drive.

Actually purchased 2 in order to have a dual backup system. Completely worth it. Had to buy a case as well. The hard drive is smaller than you'd think, very light. Easy to set up. Highly recommend.

This drive is really faster when it comes to transfer data. Also very easy setup and bug plus is it supported USB 3.1 which is way too fast than prior versions of USB ports. On bed side, it gave me only 450G of data and not sure what happened to another 50G. But there is nothing else bed about it. Its really a great SSD, Small, rugged and stylish.

I bought this SSD external to setup a virtual Vmware lab on windows and also being able to move it to other PC and works great,. I can say SSD read / write performance is as fast as my laptop SSD. I Love that is small, Cons: a little pricy.
