I bought this to replace my Toshiba external hard drive and it was very fast setting up! Then when I opened it up, I noticed that it had the same connector and that worried me because it was the connector that didn't work on two of my Toshiba external hard drives. So I thought to use this connector on my Toshiba's and it worked on them. So yes I will keep buying from Western Digital and not deviant from buying from this company.

This was so simple to use and easy loading that even my wife was able use it... Nuff said!

Small compact design makes this a great buy for all your needs. Backup software that comes with it is easy to use. You can choose what to backup or let the software choose for you. When connected with a usb 3.0 cable to a usb 3.0 port transfer rate is impressive. Password protection and hardware encryption make this great for home or business. Overall an excellent choice for any use.

Got it as a special offer for something less than 100 bucks on December 2014. Use it on Linux, specifically on Linux Mint 17 64 bits, it works perfectly, you don't even have to format it, simply plug it and start copying files. Currently storing all my videos on the drive. You'll most certainly will want to get one of those pouches, as the HDD comes bare naked.

Easy to install and use. very portable if I decide to do that

I bought one at first, to store my movie collection on, and found that it held about 400 DVD movies. The small size, no need for a separate power supply, USB3 capability, portability, huge capacity and reasonable price is what attracted me. After filling it up, and mating it with a WDTV module so I could use it with my TV, I bought three more to enable me to safely store and access my entire movie collection. What a great combination!!

This is a fast, easy to use drive that works perfect with the Xbox One. A great way to up the amount of digital games. you can keep. And with USB 3.0 support, games loaded onto this drive will actually load faster than the standard internal drive.

i needed a portable drive that could be powered off the USB port, transfer files quickly (USB 3.0) and was reasonably priced and this drive was a great find. At 2TB it will back up all the VMs I have built on my test system and still has plenty of room for music and videos. It is great for carrying tons of movies to watch when on flights as well. Unless you NEED more space, I don't think you can go wrong with this drive.

I picked up one of these drives while on business. Needed large capacity storage but did not want to worry about carrying bulky equipment around with me. This hard drive turned out to be the perfect solution. With USB 3.0 support, transfer speeds from the drive were excellent. If you travel a lot and need to carry a lot of storage around with you and you want it in a sleek form factor, this would be perfect.

The product does what I was made to do. Hooked up with no issues. Can use like thumb drive and is compatible with Windows Backup functions (I expect is is compatible with virtually all backup software products). Small physical size, no need for external power source make it simple to use and easy to use on multiple PCs (i.e. backing up files from my desktop & my wife's netbook).

I needed something for my Xbox1 for extra storage as I ran out. Needed USB 3.0, wanted something that I wouldn't run out of storage any time soon and this 2TB drive did the trick. PLugged it in and it worked great! Great drive so far and good price.

Not much to say about an external storage drive, just that so far it hasn't failed on me yet. I got mine for $90 and for the amount of storage it can hold, I say it's good enough. It does read at USB 3.0 speed, that's if you have the port to it; which I do. Also on the plus side, it's light and doesn't seem to heat up very much.

The price of this item on sale made it totally worth the effort of purchasing, I might even buy another one to take it out of its case and replace my laptop hard drive. for 2 TB you cant even find an Internal HDD for that price!!!! FYI, its plugged into my XBOX ONE as an additional storage upgrade and it works perfectly.

This is my second passport. The first was one terabyte and this one is two terabyte. The one byte holds over 1,000 movies and is my best friend at the cabin when I had no TV service. It's also great to take on the road or anywhere you go it can play from a computer or smart tv. It's awesome!!!!

I decided to use my own external hard drive to back up my desktop instead of the online offerings. 2TB was more than I needed, but was a great buy (on sale for less than $100). So I bought it. I installed it in less than 5 minutes including removing the packaging. It works seamlessly.

USB 3.0 makes your data transfer much quicker, and while it's heavy, it's massive in storage space. You're going to want to make sure you have USB 3.0 to take advantage of the faster transfer speeds if you're storing a lot of data on it, but nowadays that's probably not an issue.

This was easy to install, works great, and best of all, it doesn't take up valuable space on my limited desk space. Windows 8.1 recognizes it as a backup device, unlike my other two WD external hard drives, so I no longer have that annoying, "your backup device has been disconnected for too long, please reconnect" error message. A bug that apparently is still a problem for my other two backup drives. I especially love that it is only the size of a man's folded wallet, yet it holds a TB of storage space. The price is great, especially since I purchased it on sale. I plan on purchasing two more to replace my other backup drives. I am in love!

This was my 6th WD portable external hard drive purchase. I have purchased 2 of this exact model now (the other in black). I don't have so many due to failures but rather due to needing more space. One of my older ones I now use for work. I've been using it for 6 years now with no problems. Three of them were gifts from the start and the receivers have also used them for years now. One I gifted to family when I upgraded. You may wonder why I don't just buy a large hard drive, but I'm mostly overseas and WD is not available where I am. I don't want to deal with having to carry a larger and heavier hard drive on the plane with me when I leave the states. I'm kind of a stick to one brand when it works type of person so I keep using WD and the portable size makes sense both for work and for carrying with me on board when I travel. Since I haven't had any major issues so far, I find myself going back to WD whenever it's time for an upgrade.

Great Item, easy to set-up, space saver, great price. They have the Xbox One version too, but the only difference is the formatting. But really, the formatting only takes a few seconds, and this one is cheaper in price too when its on sale, I got it for 89.99 =)

WD Passport drives are reliable and easy to use. They are an excellent way to backup files and store you movies, music and pictures. I've owned many WD USB drives over the years and only one has gone bad, so my advice is to have two drives for redundancy.
