    I had to learn the hard way that I needed this when my hard drive crashed and lost so many photos and programs I lost. All my photos I saved but had not downloaded on Ancestry. Don't hesitate, it's an awesome product and a must have!!!!

    My wife's macbook air was running low on disk space, so I bought this external drive to fix that problem. Was able to transfer the Photos library to it and it works great.
