Got an error during installation saying "The accessory cannot be used with HomeKit". Factory-resetting the plug did not fix the issue. I just returned the defective unit to Best Buy.

In general they are very stable and reliable. This one is no exception. I use it to turn on/off standing light on my bedroom. It works flawlessly and with thread its very responsive and also it wont connect to the WIFI, hence consume very low power.

We recognize how you feel. By design, the Wemo Smart Plug with Thread is only a Home App device. Because this is not a WiFi-based device, it will not work with the Wemo App.

Small and good outlet

Have had to reset connection a couple of times, but now has been holding connection better since connecting HomePod mini.

I purchased 3 and all of them have been excellent for holiday decorations and plant lights.

No Wemo App

Gives off a better impression of someone being home. This one is only accessible throw Apple Home and it only has fixed timing schedules. Otherwise it does what its supposed to do.

We also use it for our fan in the exercise room, and, at Christmas, our tree lights. Easy to program and small and unobtrusive.

Apple Home Kit?

I have a 3 pack i use around the house that works with Google. Why would they choose to move to the least popular smart home environment ? I guess i will have to return this and swap it out for TP Link?

Better than most when moving it around

The biggest issues with other smart plugs is the set up as well as the difficulty to manage when power goes out. This plug is easy to move around and keep connected to your smart home.

Additional the instructions enclosed were not helpful.I've tried both the Wemo app and the Apple Home app. I have two other Wemos that I purchased several years ago that I installed without too much trouble. It seems that the other two I installed asked for my wifi ID, but that is not mentioned in the instructions for these I just purchased. I'm going to take them back.

Our apology for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Prior setting up the plugs, you will need a home hub (required for remote access and automations), a HomeKit-compatible Wemo, a WiFi with internet access, and a Home app-compatible device such as an iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch or a macOS computer. Please also try restting the plugs by pressing and holding the power button down for 5 seconds. Continue to hold the power button down until the status light begins to blink white. Once the Wemo WSP100 is successfully factory restored, you may now add the device to the Apple Home app.

Works great with Apple Home

I cannot give it 5 stars because I still find it a bit challenging to program. But it is still better than plugging in a lamp (or interior Christmas lights) to old-fashioned timers.

Horrible idea wemo! Trying to get in touch with customer service to find a solution for the constant pairing issues to apple home kit is absolutely terrible! 4 hours of hold music and never got to speak to someone. New Wemo plugs constantly drop connection to apple home kit. Worked maybe twice via homekit. I gave up trying to pair and re-pair. Definitely will not buy again. Waste of money!

Not a fan of using Homekit sans Wemo app

The switch to “Thread” was done badly. Instructions were poorly done. Took me hours to figure out that the Wemo app is being obsoleted for newer devices. I have numerous Wemo app rules in place. New Smart Plugs can’t be added to Wemo app. Only to HomeKit. HomeKit is functionally sub-par. I don’t know that I would buy another Wemo SmartPlug.

New ones dont work with google home
