    The black stainless is beautiful and perfectly matches the Whirlpool Micr/oven that I also purchased and the installers were excellent too

    This fridge great a first but it stop working to 1 yr warranty 3 way valve and the compressor whirlpool is a great company and fixing it so that’s been best part how responsive whirlpool in sending and replacing

    In the one year we own this refrigerator we have had to service 2 times, most recent last week. The mother board and fan both needed to be replaced.

    I recommend avoiding this fridge. Initially I was very pleased with the fridge and all of its features. However, less than two years after purchase the LED lights in the fridge and the freezer failed. I had them repaired for over $700. Two months later, I opened the door, the lights flickered for a few seconds and then the entire fridge failed and is no longer working.

    I only had new refrigerator for 1 month have problems with ice maker not working and frost buildup in freezer, but the refrigerator is beautiful just have issues that hopefully get corrected soon because it looks beautiful in my kitchen

    Great fridge, ice maker/dispenser is weird

    We bought this fridge to replace a giant Kenmore Elite (LG)... I love almost everything about it. It has the space we need for a family of 5 and it keeps temperature really well, which is likely due to the snack drawer being so convenient for kids! Also, because of kids, the fingerprint resistant ss is amazing! My photo shows what it looks like after a week without cleaning! There are a few kid prints, but almost unnoticeable. My only complaint is the ice maker/dispenser... It is crazy! I drink 5-6 glasses of ice water a day and my family uses several more glasses of ice a day, not to mention guests, so the ice dispenser on the front is a needed feature. There is no consistency to how much ice you will get. Sometimes it takes forever to get a cube and sometimes it throws (yes, throws) 10-15 cubes out, which go all over the kitchen floor! And when it's slow, it's not like there isn't ice... Even with our usage, the ice builds up so much that it jams the dispenser and makes it only dispense crushed ice. I hate crushed ice. Then we have to dump it out. Never had this issue with a fridge before. That is my only complaint with the fridge, but it's a daily frustration. I've seen reviews talking about noise, but ours seems quiet.

    Worst Refrigerator I've ever owned

    I rarely write reviews, but I feel I would fail by not telling just how much of a headache this expensive appliance has been to us. Having owned this for almost two years now, we were about to have it serviced for a third time for the same issue...NOISY COMPRESSOR. I could deal with a little noise, but just know that I've filled up my truck tires at service stations with quieter air compressors. I could even possibly bare the noise (shouldn't have to given its age and cost), but over my past two services this was also solely an indicator that the compressor is about to fail, having failed both times before when these noises started and slowly got worse. Both times it was serviced by the same contractor, and we were told that the compressor has a separate warranty, but when we tried to follow up on it with this requested third complaint, we were advised that our fridge was three (3) weeks out of warranty. The ice maker also leaves something to be desired for, unable keeping up with my old '97 GE side-by-side in the basement (which still works great by the way, and.... knock on wood... has never needed to be serviced). I HAD TO give it one star only because this site won't let me give it NONE. Thus far the only decent thing that has happened is that Whirlpool offered a customer retention discount on some other refrigerators, but with all the issues in the brief time of ownership this one has had, I am very hesitant to throw another $2,000+ at another appliance from this company. It is mind-blowing how a 2 year old $2,500 fridge isn't worth the stainless steel it is covered in. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

    Love the fridge but the ice maker is messy. No matter what type of glass, cup or bowl you use to capture the ice chips or cubes, they end up on the floor. I’m not talking about 1 or 2 but 8-10 full cubes missing the container and hitting the floor. If you like crushed ice, be prepared to bring out the broom and a towel. That just misses the container entirely. What a dumb issue for such a fantastic fridge. I would recommend if you don’t use ice maker regularly.

    After two years, the ice maker stopped working well, but it was just out of warranty. Then the LED lights started acting up…sometimes working, sometimes not. About the same time the freezer started being temperamental. We only keep things in there that are ok to defrost a bit from time to time…no raw meat, etc. Also a plastic drawer front has cracked and broken in the freezer. Just the ice maker repairs were going to cost $600 for parts and labor. Wish we would have purchased the extended warranty. It’s four years old and we need to replace it.

    We purchased a whirlpool fridge while renovating a historic 1920s home. It was a full renovation (took the house down to studs!) and construction was repeatedly delayed due to issues outside our control. We ended up installing the fridge just over a year after we purchased it - new out the box it made a thunking noise in the fan and didn't produce ice. After going back and forth with customer service for almost two weeks, they told us that they wouldn't extend the warranty because it was a renovation and not new construction, but had it been a new construction, they would honor the warranty... which makes NO SENSE! So frustrating as we provided proof we had just installed it new from box. So now I have a brand new $3,000 fridge that needs almost a thousand dollars in repair and all whirlpool will do is give us 25% off a new appliance. They clearly don't stand behind their product or care that their brand new product doesn't work.
