So far so good. My wife loves the extra capacity not having a central agitator. Easy to use and does a great job.

We got this top loader to replace our horrible 1 year old front loader because it made all out clothes smell bad and it was growing mold inside the rubber seal. The Cabrio was a good price and the right size and seemed to have decent reviews. I will never purchase a front loading washer again. So far so good with our new washer. Nothing fancy, but it gets the clothes clean, and that's what matters, right?!

Absolutely love my new washer. I bought the set and my time doing laundry is cut in half. The capacity is plenty large enough for my king size comforter. The controls are great, it's quiet and quick.

Stay away from Whirlpool - Cabrio

I have a small family of 3 and had just moved into a new home. We needed a new washer and dryer set so after a little investigating we ended up going with this Whirlpool - Cabrio set. Bad move! Our washer is 1 year and 8 months old (almost still new) and it will no longer complete cycles. It just locks up into a fill / drain cycle.
It started about 2 weeks ago on laundry day, after a normal load of laundry and the washer started sounding as if it was destroying our upstairs and making a buzzing / grinding noise. The whole house started to shake. My wife and I ran up stairs to see what was going on only to find our washer destroying itself. The drum inside the washer was so out of wack it beat / bent both side walls on the wash out a good 2+ inches. Water was going everywhere. We both raced to turn the hot and cold water lines off and kill the power to the washer. The washer was upstairs over top our great room in a log cabin with all wood floors and ceilings. If we would of been outside or something, this could of been a flooded home situation. We ended up getting the clothes out of the machine and I fired it back up to see if I could get it to drain. We were successful with that at least. All the water drained out no problem as long as I started it in the special rinse and spin cycle but turning off the rinse function. I let the washer sit for a day with no power to the machine. I fired it back up and started to test it to see if I could get it to perform any cycle functions or to see if it was shot. Low and behold this machine is toast. It now makes a loud buzzing noise and will not engage the different cycles it should go through once you start a load. It sticks on the fill up and will drain the refill over and over. It literally will do it all day long. I have never seen or heard of a washer destroying itself the way this thing has done. I'm happy to post pictures if anyone would like to see. Anyway the long and short is this was not cheap, not the most expensive either but for a family to spend this kind of money on an item and get less then 2 years out of it is just horrible. The machine has worked limited dutty, just blows my mind that this occurred but in reality we were lucky. Since we were close by and was able to stop it before it distroyed our laundry room or worse yet flooded our home. The pics are after I pushed the sides back in as far as I could get them. If this washer has any protective sensors on it to stop it from vibrating itself to death then a new kind of sensor needs to be used in the future.

The wife had been wanting one these HE washer for some time. 8 years or daily washing (kids) on a 20 year old machine, did our old washer in.
So got this one on sale. We saw all the new technology out there and want to stay with a traditional brand on a budget (and had to fit down our 27" wide stairs)
This thing is like a space ship. Super quite. Fast and get the clothes super clean.

I am very pleased with this washer. It is gentle on the clothes and due to the sensors it determines how much water to add, how much to rinse and how long to spin. There are multiple combinations of settings to choose and there is a chart provided to help determine what setting to choose depending on what you are washing. It also has a chime when you start or stop it and when the cycle is finished. Plus it is very large compared to the old standard washers.

Jury's Out...

The jury is still out as we just got this washer today due to our old Cabrio washer leaking from the bottom with water flowing all over our hallway upstairs and seeping down into our living room the other day. Our smoke detector was not happy...drip, drip! Ugh. But the washer was about 10 years old, so we figured we'd be better off just investing in a new one. I loved that Cabrio otherwise. This is the newer version of that one, I guess. This one has a completely new panel, etc., but it's attractive and seems nice and easy to understand. It has some delicate, melodic tones that I'm sure you can turn off, but I do like a tone alerting me that the washer is done (to prevent clothes from sitting in it and getting moldy-smelling). And I've learned to always keep the washer lid open after every wash.
There was a button on our old one that actually said "Pause" if you wanted to throw something else in, but with this one you have to hit a 'Hold to Start' button (which should say pause) instead. It works, but it's not very user friendly. Also, you cannot just hit spin without 'rinsing AND spinning.' Not sure why they would remove the spin-only button. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Unfortunately, they installed it but didn't balance it. After the installation, the installer told us to run an empty load first, saying this should be done 'to get it to balance itself,' and then he left. Seemed okay, but when I washed my first load of laundry, the machine shook all over during the spin cycle, and it was obviously unbalanced. We could attempt to balance it ourselves, but I don't think we should have to with a new washer. So we have to have a tech come out and, in their defense, they escalated the call. Going on the fourth day without doing laundry, though....eek!
I do like the large drum. It's the same cubic feet as our old one, but this one seems much larger for some reason. I also like the white top. We had a see-through top on the old one, but who really needs to 'watch' their laundry being done? Also, the glass was constantly spotted.
Although the load of wash I did was unbalanced, the clothes came out very clean, and that was in cold water. There were a lot of strange noises (which they do mention in the guide). The clicks and whirls, I'm used to. But I heard an unfamiliar one - almost like metal hitting the drum, followed by a rubber scraping sound during one cycle. It wasn't a loose coin or anything but sounded internal. It was a short, quick sound, but it didn't sound right. But even without that sound, though, I wouldn't say this is a quiet washer. The agitator seems pretty loud to me.
All in all, I'm going to hold my final opinion and wait until the tech comes out and balances it. Perhaps all of these unusual sounds are due to the fact that it's unbalanced. So if you're interested, stay tuned for my yay or nay on this recommendation. I'll say yes for now, and remain cautiously optimistic.

After a month or so: Spacious drum, not that noisy (the chimes at the end aren't too annoying, and you get used to the churning sounds)... and it cleans pretty well as far as HE washers go. It does leave water in the detergent tray, but otherwise, it's doing the job.

Compromised with the little lady on this washer; I wanted front load, she didn't. So we got this HE top load beauty that really makes any load of laundry a breeze. User friendly controls and plenty of cycle options you normally don't find at this price point.

We wish we would have purchased the washer with the clear lid so we could observe the cleaning process. Since it is an HE washer, we can't tell if we are using the correct amount of soap. We have to completely shut down to unlock the lid. Our laundry is coming out nice and clean so we must be doing it right!

A great large capacity washer. More room than my last Whirlpool but takes up the same amount of space in the laundry room. Much quieter than the last machine but does make sounds that you need to get used to.

After reviewing many Washers & Dryers from different sites, I was so intrigued with the Whirlpool matched set for a number of reasons. If you follow the directions as far as operations, and the use of HE detergent as recommended, you cannot go wrong with this choice. It cleans well, drys well, and does everything that I expected. I do not think I could have made a better choice of products. I am also glad that I chose Best Buy to make my purchase. Everyone was on point as far as making a sale to keep the customer happy.

We have been using Whirlpool and Magtag products over 10 years. Excellent durability, all products last over ten years, the only reason for us to replace them is we have moved and would like to get some new appliances. The new machine is much more quieter than the old one. It has lots of useful preset functions. We all like it very much. Beside the product, I would like to say thank you to the second delivery team. This product was delivered once with my other purchase, but came defect. There was a dent in the back of the washer. I ended up returned it and rescheduled a second delivery. I was a little worry when the second team came with a new washer, because there was a little stair case on the way that they have to do a little lifting before it can get into the back of the house where we live. However, I was overthinking, the second delivery team has amazed me by their professional way of get their job done. Instead of wasting energy on doing all the manual lifting, they minimized the chance of lifting by correctly use their little cart to position it where they do not have to apply as much labor on lifting. It was a fast, easy and safe delivery this time.

1 month into using this washer and its great so far. Coming from an old style (agitator in the middle of washer) washer this is far more efficient and i do feel that my clothes are cleaner and it smells better. For the price and the capacity of clothes it can handle its a bargain.
