When it is working, it is good. It syncs with my iPhone app. However, I don't think it is very reliable. It stops working from time to time. And I don't know it is not working until the next day. The software has glitches. It is fine to have it as a toy, but not a medical device.

As far as sleep trackers go this is one of the more inaccurate sleep trackers out there. decent value however my WHOOP was much more accurate in determining stages of sleep.

Better Sleep Tracking

This device is a great idea if you want to track your sleep in a meaningful way. There are many devices that claim to track your sleep, but they don’t give you much info, you have to remember to wear them to bed, and most wearables need to be recharged at night anyway.
Setup is easy. Unfold, place under your mattress, and plug in. The cord is long and the entire mat and cord are covered in soft fabric.
The app was easy to use, provides graphs and lots of information with tips to improve your sleep. It can also integrate other health information like steps and workouts if you choose.
There a couple of things to keep in mind. The mat is not large and you have to sleep over it to get good data. If you have a big bed and move around a lot, it might not capture all of your sleep. If you sleep with someone else you can adjust the sensitivity, but it might not work as good for you (it doesn’t always capture my wife’s snoring).
Good sleep is very important, but most devices treat it as an extra. If you want more info about something you spend a third of your life doing, this a great dedicated device and can help you make some adjustments to improve your sleep and possibly identify issues you might want to see a doctor about.

Great way to analyze your sleep

There are many sleep tracking devices out in the market, but most require you to wear a bracelet, strap something to your arm, or even put your phone under your pillow. The Withings Sleep Mat eliminates all of that. First thing is that it goes under the mattress, so your sleeping surface stays completely unchanged. You plug it in to power, connect it to your WiFi network, and complete the set-up on your phone. Then that’s it. You don’t have to open the app and start sleep tracking or press a button; it starts once you lay down. This is what sets it apart from everything else. You don’t change anything in your sleep routine and you don’t even notice its there. It is a seamless experience. Then the analysis of your sleep shows up in the app when you wake up, and it is pretty accurate. In my experience, I like to lay down before going to bed and watch TV or browse my phone, and the sleep mat knows you’re awake and doesn’t track it as restless sleep. It’s smart enough to know when you are actively sleeping. This sleep data can greatly help with trying to plan when the best time to go to sleep is and how going to sleep at a certain time can affect your sleep quality. Not to mention the Sleep Mat can track heart rate and even let you know if you snore at night. After a full week of using the Withings Sleep Mat, I have adjusted my sleeping routine to get a better nights sleep by following what they recommended and changing what time I go to sleep. Highly recommended to those who want better insight into their health.

Excellent Sleep Tracking

So in full disclosure I own a Sleep Number bed with SleepIQ technology. I really didn't think I needed the Withings Sleep Tracking Mat + Heart Rate, but I was shocked how much more informative the data was from the Withings' device. First of all it works fine on an air bed so that was my first concern put to rest (no pun intended). Next, the basic sleep data (Start, Stop, Heart Rate, Breathing Rate) was right in line with the data SleepIQ gave me. So it was comforting that both devices were reporting similar results. What I enjoy about the Withings Sleep Tracking Mat is that it also tells me how much snoring I did and my sleep depth (Light, Deep, REM) with wonderful graphs to illustrate the times I was at what depth. The app is sleek and easy to use and that is another win in my opinion as the SleepIQ app is nothing to write home about. It also provides a score similar to SleepIQ, but Withings is weighting their metrics differently so the scores do match up for comparison. Overall, if you love your mattress and are looking for a great sleep tracking device look no further than the Withings Sleep Tracking Mat + Heart Rate. It really is worth the money if tracking your sleep is important to you.

Great start to healthy sleeping habits

I have struggled with insomnia and have had poor sleeping habits for as long as I can remember. I was a little apprehensive about the accuracy of this product but I have been pleasantly surprised. It captures snoring, every time you wake up, when you fall back asleep, REM, light and deep sleep and sums your night up in percentages and numbers. It leaves you very accountable and just knowing that it’s there makes you want to sleep better. How do I know the accuracy? Well when I get up let’s say to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or if I can’t fall asleep I always look at the time and the following morning I’m always surprised to see that the mat had the correct times each time. It was very easy to setup and the app is very user friendly. You’re able to see when you have a good night, when you don’t, and how you can do a little better each night. There are also other products that you can pair with the mat for a nice inhome experience. Great product you won’t regret purchasing .

This sleep tracking device by Withings is very impressive. You simply lay it out under your mattress and then connect it via usb to a receptacle. Download the app and you will be walked through a connection process that is very easy to complete. Once connected you simply go to bed and the device calculates a series of informational data that is quite amazing. It tracks the various types of sleep stages and then calculates a nightly score. You can see on the hourly scale when you slept, when you were awake and the sleep stage you were in at a given time. Say goodbye to wearable sleep tracking devices. You may forget it is there because it is not intrusive. The data displayed on the app is very informative and can help you understand your sleep patterns and more. In addition to sleep functions the app is capable of doing much more. I am enjoying tracking my sleep patterns and data. The product quality is excellent. A terrific new addition to sleep research. Withings continues to make quality products.

The Withings Sleep Tracking mat is pretty crazy with how much it tracks. I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but once I used it, it made me want to put effort into getting a better night sleep. Ever hear people who say a health tracking watch makes them want to workout and stay healthy? The same applies for this.
Background, I am a middle aged man who according to my wife snores loudly when I sleep. I figured the Sleep Tracking mat would be interesting to see what causes me to snore and how much it happens, as well as several other factors.
The mat tracks the duration of your sleep, the depth (deep, rem and light), the regularity, interruptions (did you get up to use the bathroom or for anything else?), the time it takes for you to go to sleep, the time it takes for you to get up, breathing disturbances, heart rate and time spent snoring. It knows when you're awake and when you fall asleep.
If you're paying attention you can see that's alot of info that is tracked from a small mat that you put under your mattress. How does it work? I don't know, maybe magic? I would guess the snoring part would be done by recording sounds in your bedroom which is weird but I'm pretty sure you can turn that part off.
So what did I find? Lots of things but mainly I don't get to bed early enough and I don't snore as much as my wife says I do (although she's argued that the mat probably isn't working right lol).
This thing works so well that me and my kid were laying on the bed last week and I dozed off while the kiddo was playing on my ipad. It tracked that as a nap (since I guess it was in the afternoon) and since we laid there for about 30 minutes it knew I was awake for 28 minutes and it knew I dozed off for 2 minutes. Mind blown.
All in all I have found myself wanting to increase my overall score. My main problem is I get to bed too late so I don't get enough sleep. This device has me trying to get to bed earlier so I can bump my score up. It's also really interesting seeing all the stats, especially the heart rate and snoring.

A decent product to monitor sleep

I've been a fan of things that can help me understand my sleep. Since I have horrible sleep patterns and routines, I thought it would be a good way to again try to reel myself back into trying for a good night's sleep.
My initial reaction was that the cord was too short to make it to an outlet, but I used an extension cord and that solved that without any issue. The other concern is that it seemed to be picking up my wife's sleep patterns and not always mine. I found this by sleeping in separate beds when I noticed the mixed results. I'm sure if I try long enough I might get the exact spot that it might not pick up my wife's sleep patterns and just mine, but it seems to much work to get that to happen.
Once that was resolved, I can say with much certainty that this product works well to help you understand what you are doing in your sleep. I had been thinking of putting up a camera and see how much flipping and stuff, and if I could see if I was snoring (mouth open) but realized that is a bit difficult and I would not be happy seeing myself sleep.
The information I got seems to concur with what I already believed was happening, with some surprises, like how many minutes it took me to wake up, and also sleep disturbances - I know this isn't a medical sleep study, but it gives you an idea of how things are going without doing an expensive sleep study.
Would I recommend this? Yes, absolutely. Even if you need to sleep in a separate bed for a few nights to understand how your sleep is going, it would be worth it to figure out how to make your sleep time be more productive. I'm of the opinion that tools like this can really help get you back on track and try to make positive life changes to improve your life. Life is too short anyway, making the most of it and not feeling tired as often is the way to go! I'll be trying this with other family members in m house so they can understand their sleep issues - and maybe help get them on track while they are younger (20's).
I would like a longer cord for a next gen product, and also a way to incorporate a mat that is for two people who share a bed, with their own stats, even if it meant wearing a bracelet or something that would tell the mat who was who and on which side of the bed.

Most Convenient Way to Gather Sleep Data

I’m a person that likes data. I track every movie I watch, every book I read, etc. I already have the Withings smart scale so was excited to get this device. It’s a little mat that you place under your mattress and plug it into the wall next to the alarm clock. It was detected as soon as I opened the Health Mate app on my iPhone after which it went through a 10 minute setup period. As your sleeping it tracks what stage of sleep you are in: light, deep, or REM. It’ll also tell you if you woke up in the middle of the night. In the morning it gives you a “sleep score”, a number that is supposed to determine how restful your sleep was. It will also tell you how often you snored or if you had any breathing disturbances which can help to detect sleep apnea. Now, I sleep pretty soundly, pretty much passing out as soon as my head hits the pillow until mother nature comes calling in the morning. So I can’t really judge how accurate the different stages of sleep is. I just have no idea. What I’m more interested in is keeping track of my total sleep time and when I go to bed or wake up. So far, it seems that it is pretty accurate in those numbers. Oh yea, and it monitors your heart rate. At some point I may play around with some of the IFTTT features---wish I had a smart coffee maker.
The best part about this device is it’s set it and forget it. Once it’s setup there’s literally nothing else you need to do but sleep normally. Nothing to wear on your wrist, don’t even really need your phone as it actually communicates over wifi.
Thumbs up!

Effortless sleep tracking

I was scheduled for a home sleep study when I became aware of the Withings sleep tracking mat. No straps, no wires, no hassle. What??!!?? I cancelled the home sleep study.
I had no clue if this would work as advertised and it's amazing, but it does! You simply place this mat between your box spring and mattress, about chest high, plug the USB cord connected to the mat into the adapter and plug it into an outlet. How could anything work when it's under the mattress? I still don't know how it works but it does somehow via the sensors in the sleep mat.
Download their app, set it up on your WiFi and you're ready to go. There is NOTHING else to do. You simply go to sleep and get up in the morning. It knows what time you go to bed and tracks your sleep hours - it knows when you're in deep sleep, REM, or light sleep. It knows when you're awake, it knows when you snore - not your bed-mate, but you. Somehow it can distinguish between the two. And it also is aware of sleep disturbances.
It then gathers this information in the app and the interface shows you how your sleep measures up. Did you snore? If so, it shows you how long you snored in total, what times the snoring occurred, and the duration of each episode. How often were you in deep sleep, REM, or light sleep, how long were you in each and at what times. It also tracks how long it takes you to fall asleep and how long it takes you to wake up. And there's even more... With daily weekly and monthly reports to view.
It can sometimes take a bit of time for the data to transfer to the app. I got up about 3 hours before my wake up time to use the restroom one morning. When I got up for the day, I checked the app. It indicated that my sleep time stopped for the night at the time I used the restroom. About a1/2 hour later, I saw that it had added in the hours after I went back to bed, and showed the time I had left the bed as a disturbance. It just took a bit of time to update. I was impressed and I continue to be impressed. With no effort on my part, I am able to keep track of my sleep activity with the Withings sleep tracking mat.
One thing... I'm not sure how long I will continue to find this information to be useful on a daily basis. If it stays relatively stable, I don't know that I would check it often... Perhaps monthly to see how I'm doing. Yes, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to track their sleep patterns.
