Replaced a 25-year old Denon Home theater center that gave up the ghost with this. I kept my 5.1 Klipsch sub and speakers, and I was worried it wouldn't sound as good. This has great power, sound profiles, and it's easy to set-up and configure. It even comes with a device to measure your room sound dynamics and tweak the installation.

I thought that the purchase that I made with the Yamaha receiver was an excellent purchase. I love the sound and features that this receiver has on it. It was exactly what I needed for the room that I was using it for. Very great buy, and I am glad that I purchased it when I did and got it for a great price. This receiver is fabulous! I originally purchased a Yamaha which I was not satisfied with at all. The Denon works flawlessly with my Sony Bravia tv and Klipsch speakers. I use the HEOS app on my phone which is quite convenient! It also has AirPlay which probably one of my favorite features it has. The sound quality this unit produces is wonderful and and pretty easy to set up! I’ve had it for a couple months now and have had zero issues with it. It’s plenty powerful ans will most certainly blow the windows out lol. I expect many years of enjoyment out of the unit!! I am by no means an audiophile but I am 100% satisfied with it!

Great sound..... the clarity of this unit is amazing especially when used with yamaha speakers.. only reason i bought it was to replace the same unit that i had bought several years ago with the whole speaker system when the receiver " accidentally " got sprayed with water while hosing off the porch.. the unit was fine before than . This system has alot more refinement in the high frequency range as opposed to other surround sound systems that are more aimed to midrange and bass.. i have been pleased with it and it is why i purchased another receiver to replace the water soaked damaged one i had

    Pleased with Yamaha receiver

Lots of ports, easy to use. Bought banana clips for speaker wires. Pleased with its appearance. It was around 7" tall which is higher than other brands like Sony so unfortunately it would not fit on our media stand shelf so we had to remove a drawer to use that as a shelf. Our Yamaha AV theatre receiver we bought in 2013 at our other home was a more expensive model and has not caused a single problem so we trust this brand. We are using this one with a Hisense ultra short throw projector and CLR 135" screen. And there were double cube Bose speakers already on the walls so we kept them and the Yamaha drives them fine (I read a review to be sure they could be paired with the Yamaha). Bose would not have been my choice in speakers but they came with the house and seem OK in our huge room with up to 30 foot ceilings and do not take up space on the floor. We discarded the old Bose Lifestyle components and replaced them with this Yamaha, a Polk audio subwoofer and use a fire stick to stream at the projector. I had to rewire the Bose speakers using 16 guage speaker wire and banana plugs (Bose has annoying odd wiring systems to be proprietary instead of standard.)

I replaced a Sony receiver with this Yamaha and I am really glad I did. Besides being easier to set up than the Sony, the Yamaha has excellent sound reproduction. The first thing i noticed was a deep bass response which the Sony completely ignored. This receiver is a keeper and i would recommend it to anyone.

I'm very happy with this rx385 plenty of power I use klipsch RX4 on front pair and a JBLsub. This amp is so turnable I am amazed at the moder n electronics all the low frequency you could want my front pair of speakers play bass heavy anyways it will play the high frequencies plenty strong if you turn it that way not my preference overall you can't go wrong for the price I paid

I had this unit’s predecessor with speakers in place and after years of perfect service the old unit had a glitch so up graded. This unit is great with welcomed improvements. With the easy install I’m all set for many more years of excellence sound and complete control of all my entertainment needs.

I hooked this up in my front room just to have a little surround sound from the television and for listening to my XM Sirius satellite. It's probably a bit more than what I needed but I have always known Yamaha to make dependable long lasting equipment and so far I am satisfied with this purchase.

This is a 5.1 channel surround sound receiver which means it is for a max of five speakers and a subwoofer. I use it for my bedroom/studio apartment and it's more than enough. Yamaha is a trusted brand for sound and all my speakers are Bose so it's good combo. If you want to power a full home theater center in your home I recommend going for the 7.1 channel. Everything on the receiver is labeled very clearly so you don't have to be too knowledgeable about cables to be able to connect your speakers. The interface is simple enough as well. The best part is how simple it is to switch between inputs. The switch buttons are just as big as the volume control on the remote. I am happy with my purchase.

If you like various sound choices (3D surrounds sounds) then this is the receiver for you. Some of the choices include: 2ch stereo, 5ch stereo, DPL Movie, Hall in Munich, Hall in Vienna, etc. I use it for Movies, regular tv, and music. I don't necessarily have to have my sound loud, I am more concerned about the quality of the sound. For example, I'd like to hear every single instrument if it's a live concert/music. I actually traded an Onkyo (around the same price) for this Yamaha. I was impressed by the sound quality of this Yamaha receiver, for such an affordable price. Thank you Yamaha and Best Buy. Tip: For those of you that haven't figured out the Bluetooth yet, it is on pg 19 of your manual (included in photo). So you pretty much have to press the "memory/play" button for a few secs after pressing the "bluetooth" button. Then you can connect it to your cell phone. You only need to do this the 1st time, then just "bluetooth" and your phone will pick up the signal.

It’s doing the job for now while I wait for the 2021 pioneer elites to drop this summer. Just using it as a place holder and it’s doing the job. I have it connected to some B&W 600 series and I’m surprised that this receiver is pushing those speakers.
