Setup was very easy. The automatic speaker balancing is terrific. The 4K HDR works well with my Sony 4K HDR DVR and Sony 65" 900 series TV. I am very satisfied.

I always know about the Yamaha receiver is good, but did not get a chance to replace. Finally my ES SONY receiver went out, and this receiver was on sale at Best Buy. This is an elevated receiver with high end component. I removed my old receiver and plug in the new one. Amazing sound with my existing Energy 5.1 speaker system. All speakers are working once again. The sound are crisp than before, and I adjust higher on the subwoofer. It has the power to shake the neighborhood. My home theater has been rejuvenated. Enjoy the bluetooth function from my mobile phone. Still need to learn more on other functions.

I could clearly find a distinguishing difference after connecting the sound system to this receiver. It was a easy setup and its YPAO technology helped me optimize to the room setting. Overall very easy to use and nice quality sound.

Great receiver! I primarily bought this to fill out my musiccast network! Musiccast is a great alternative to Sonos! It's almost better than Sonos because you're getting an entire receiver for a cheaper price.

I haven't been able to completely put it through it's paces. But so far this unit has put out good sound. Easy to upgrade over wifi and has a lot of built in internet radio stations.

Things can be complicated in todays realm in the front room. You need to know what the unit can do and know when to use them as far as abilities go. Todays units have HDMI control which will allow this product to talk with whats plugged in that way. Problem is depending on what you want to do, something might turn on that you don't want to, so hopefully for example, if you have a gaming console, you need to go into that console and turn off HDMI control so it wont turn on when you just nned to watch Netflix on a smart tv. I did loose the ability to just pick up the controller on my PS4 and hit the PS button and the console, tv, and receiver would turn on and I was done. Now no dice. The other thing now is it can take 2 minutes for the the input to show on the screen, with any unit you buy. Makes you feel like you are doing something wrong. I trieda Sony before I bought this and I Had to take it back, it wont let me do what I wanted and things would just tun on or my PS4 or Ps3 would just turn on 30 minutes later watching tv and the receiver would change between them both but never would pick on or the other, the receiver was getting info from both so it confused the SONY. This Yamaha is what you need for the price and features. It has two ports for two subs, so movie watching can really rumble if you ban afford another sub.

Yamaha Receivers are quality and use the best components. They are easier to setup than Onkyo and the app and onscreen menus are easier to use. I love that this receiver has Air Play for music built in. The sound quality on this receiver is excellent. I recommend this to anyone looking to setup a surround sound system.

I’m using this just as a 3-channel music source with a pair of Vienna Acoustics Bach Grands and a sub on one channel, and some Yamaha outdoor speakers on another channel, mainly with Pandora as the audio source. Great sound quality and connectivity! Love the iPhone control app. Much better than my last Pioneer Elite!

The receiver was on sale and provides a lot of functions and features. My main intent was to support a home theater but also supports Internet radio, remote wireless speakers, and much more. I have yet to figure out how to control the TV and 4K Blu-ray from the Yamaha remote (now I must use each device remote for at least some features), but I will take the time to learn and make the setting adjustments. One thing I learned early was to activate in order: 1) cable box, 2) AV receiver, and then 3) TV. Otherwise the TV does not get the pass-through signal before activating and switches to channel search mode.

This is a great buy if you are setting up a small home system. Yamaha app is easy to control and the power and sound is fine. The price point is excellent for where it falls in the lineup.

Purchased this unit to upgrade over my 2002 HarmonKardon 241system with a unit that had modern HDMI outputs/inputs. After months of researching units I settled on the Yamaha Aventage series, I have not regretted this purchase one second. Love it!

I am extremely pleased with this receiver and would recommend this product line. It is easy to use, offers both wired and wireless connections, access to Apple's Airplay and Spotify. You simply can't go wrong with the Aventage line from Yamaha!

I really researched the heck out of this purchase, not so much because of the price, but because I really wanted the best sound for my purposes. It actually boiled down to this and a comparably priced Onkyo. Among the features I wanted was the ability to hook up a second set of A or Front speakers - which were actually outside. It had to be a 7.1 or 7.2, otherwise I had to get a switch box combo. By going with a higher level model, there were sound system benefits you wouldn't get with a 5.1. Overall, this was the best choice and value for the money at the time.

This is my 4th Yamaha receiver. I have been fully satisfied with all them and they all work great with the exception of one that was hit by lightning. I bought this Yamaha receiver to replace an older Yamaha. This is my first Yamaha that is networkable and has Bluetooth. Two features I was really looking for. This thing sounds great and does everything I wanted it to. I don't have any nit picky complaints. I also got this at a great price as I believe this is soon going to be an old model but that makes no difference.

I bought this avr as part of a package with Definitive Tech speakers. Great deal from BB, significantly cheaper than available elsewhere. Only a few hours on the avr and only beginning to understand all the features & capabilities but already love it. Hookup has been straight-forward and instructions were clear (full manual is available online, over 100 pages). Delivery was quick. so far, so good.

I've only had the receiver for a few weeks and so far it is pretty nice. Much better sound than my 7 year old Onkyo but that could be b/c of new audio formats. I feel like I am hearing some movies for the first time. Setup was pretty easy though I am still trying to figure out how to get my Xfinity remote to turn off the receiver (though I can control the volume). I need to sit down and go over the manual to figure out all of the audio options.

Picked this up Black Friday for a good price. It was replacing a 5 year old Pioneer Elite for my movie theater that costed me twice as much. Sounded pretty good out of the box but much much better after using the optimizer mic. Very happy with my purchase. The weight of this unit is pretty light though which scared me at first but the amp in it is pretty powerful. Certainly powerful enough for my lower end B&W 5.1 surround sound system
