The new Roku with it's beautiful fish-tank home screen saver is such a nice feature. The additional apps and 4K capabilities are also worth having and of course the voice command remote.
Best Buy Geek Squad installed our new Yamaha Aventage 7.2-Ch. Bluetooth Capable HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver making our Whole HOME THEATER come together with all 6 entertainment sources easily accessed from one universal remote.
Our vinyl never sounded so good. 3D on our 4K OLED is better enhanced with the surround sound experience.

The subject line speaks for itself if your wanting a good audio receiver that will last years this should be your choice. You also have the option to plug in a ton of stuff to it and run 7.1 surround

Tinnitus Hearing Loss

I bought this receiver as a replacement for a receiver that died after several years. I hated having to spend so much money on this thing until I set it up and saw I could configure my big giant Klipsch speakers to limit the sound frequencies at various levels. I can also use the manual equalizer but have always wound up with a tinny sound.
I am a 56 year old man with tinnitus and moderate hearing loss. I have trouble hearing higher pitches; especially women's and children's voices. While this is nice at times in my daily life, it sucks big time when trying to watch a movie.
I was able to set my 7.1 speakers to limit the frequency to 200hz and above except the left and right front speakers which I set at 80hz and above. This allows me to hear female voices clearly and not lose too much bass and better, not wind up with a muddy sound.
The unit provides a great sound which I've come to expect from Yamaha and some wireless features that I haven't played with yet. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to configure my system to accommodate my hearing problems and I had to share with other grumpy old folks with hearing loss. . .

My trusty 14 year old Marana dies after 14 years and I was in the market for an amplifier to meet my needs. I have large custom built speakers 2x8 with two custom 1x12 sub woofer boxes on each side which means I need an amp that has plenty of power to push through and sustain the 4ohm top speakers. I took a listen to all major brands at the store (Sony, Denon, Pioneer, Marantz...)., I also took a listen a the lower tier amps in the $400 range but was not impressed. As soon as the Yahmaha A780 was playing I knew it's the one, plenty of power and sound is satisfactory. Plenty of features too including Bluetooth to play music from phone. Menu navigation is simple and the surround processing unit for stereo plugged media computer playing Netflix movies is top notch, much better than the old Dolby Pro-Logic days.
With so many circuits on board including firmware chip to control the software I am worried how long it will last but for now it was worth the money paid.
Only con I could think of is they should have included a built in cast option for video.

Bought to replace an NAD T 748 which decided to have non-functioning HDMI inputs one day. Needed something that was not too deep to fit in a cabinet and the Yamaha fit the bill (and in researching appears to have a good track record as far as reliability)
Yamaha has decent sound for 2 channel stereo (less heft and musical dynamics than the NAD), but is more suited for home theater. Yamaha has some nice options for movies/TV sound fields and does a good job of filling out my 15x23 theater space.
Very easy to set up and has a nice GUI menu.
Bluetooth connectivity paired right away.
Yamaha buttons are a little wonky in that they are not raised above the surface and difficult to operate in the dark by touch. Overall pleased with the Yamaha and do appreciate the Aventage warranty as compared to the RV-X line (3 years instead of 1).

I replaced a JVC RX-778VBK. The reason for the replacement was I up graded the TVs in my home and everything was HDMI, so up graded everything. I purchased an Onkyo system that was recommended by the sales associate. The Onkyo did not sound as good as my JVC system. I returned it a week later and purchased the Yamaha system. I am glad I did. The Yamaha system sounds so much better in every way when compared to the Onkyo. So much so I am going to expand the area I use for the surround sound. I really like the 2nd channel for playing sound on another setting for another room. I actually use it to expand the sound to the other side of the man cave while playing pool. I can’t say enough about this system. I liked my JVC. I really like my Yamaha. After setting up the system I decided to replace some older Pioneer box speakers with a set of Klipsch 1065834 R620F. Perfect.

This thing sounds great. This replaced an Onkyo that didn't support 4K or HDR and I was suprised to notice a definite improvement in sound, even with the same speaker setup. At its price point, this receiver is too expensive to justify for casual music listening or movies, but it's missing many of the features you can find in one of its big brothers. I'd highly recommend Yamaha Aventage to anyone who appreciates good audio; I'd also recommend reviewing the features of each model to make sure you're going to be satisfied without overspending.

This receiver is above and beyond the entry level one I had in the past. Completely different device. Packed with features & relatively easy to use.
Setup & calibration of the speakers is a breeze. Plug in the mic and it goes. Every speaker can be setup with plugs, no bare wire connectors needed.
Love that there are multiple sub plugs - added a 2nd and now I have a way better home theater experience. Added so much more depth & detail to the sound - very satisfied with the Aventage.

Bought this to replace an 8 year old Denon one or two ranks above.
This Yamaha sounds just as good, supports Wi-Fi and accommodates more HDMI sources although there’s no cross-conversion to HDMI from analog sources. I compensated by purchasing a couple of mini converters to HDMI.
One caveat - Apple Play works fine for music but not for video. We use with Apple TV so we use that for Apple Play instead.

I purchased the Yamaha Aventage 7.2 receiver to replace an older Yamaha RX V765 receiver so that I could take advantage of the 4K features of a recently purchased Samsung QLED Q60 series 4K Smart TV. The receiver was very easy to setup and the sound quality as well as 4K video capabilities are very good for the price. Bluetooth works very well with the receiver as well as Apple Play.

Best bang for the buck... If you dont care to have atmos past 7.1. This is one of the best receivers you can absolutely get for 5.2.2 in this price range by a mile. The distortion rating of .06 sold me. I do wish I had more speaker options so I can add later, but for the price, I knew what I was getting into. Clarity, power, ease of use, and style. Buy it.

Bought because I needed something I could easily play to form my iphone without constant disconnects like my old unit. I can easily play from Tidal using MisicCast and can control with my Yamaha AV Controller app. Got a fantastic price on an open box. Audessy setup easy to use for good sound. Very pleased.

Just plug into tv arc input. Never even have to turn it on or off. It goes on and off with whatever you use. I use with Sony tv, Apple tv and Sony Blu-Ray Been buying Yamaha products for years. My R8 receiver still works perfect from 1985. Can’t go wrong with Yamaha

The receiver that I had before this one was a Yamaha also. It lasted me about 15 years so when I seen this one I jumped right on it. The difference between the two is like night and day. This one has so many more features and its Bluetooth. I hope is last as long as the other one. I very very happy with this receiver.

I was a Sony guy since the early 90’s and was very reluctant to switch manufacturers. My last reciever was very glitchy and I was never able to get it set up and running the way I wanted to. I steared toward this reciever because of the quality, technology, and value. I have had it for two months and it has met all my expectations and has worked flawlessly. Best Buy staff was knowledgeable and did not push me to either the Sony ES or the Yamaha Aventage series but gave me advantages of each brand. I am extremely happy with the purchase.
