purchased so i could hook my 4k tv, xbox one s, PS4, Wi U to one device and have everything supported. while it all hooks together, the xbox one s complains that not all TV modes are supported. the receiver will not pass the xbox one s HDR10 signal or the 24hz or 50hz 4k signal to the Tv. so 4k download using the xbox one s are not possible. so i have to hook the xbox directly to the Tv where those signals are passed correctly

Great Receiver and is 4K ready .Marantz is NOT on what I have read on reveiws. What I also like on Yamaha Aventage series is Great sound and Movies sound Great. The Yamaha Aventage receiver Doesn't get hot like Marantz receivers that's get very warm on top.I have my Yamaha Receiver in a nice entertainment center on a shelf behind glass doors .I didn't want a receiver in closed entrainment center that's get hot because risking over heating. Yamaha Aventage stays very cool to the touch on top of the receiver when running. The Yamaha Aventage receivers looks Great brushed metal front and sound excellent.Plenty of clean power at 90 watts per channel and very loud in the living room with movie speakers and a subwoofer .This receiver also have separate listening zones for speaker on my rear cover patio.
The regular Yamama receiver are plastic front panel compared to metal face plate on Aventage series.

This unit does everything I need. The power is more than I need. It can really blast out the windows. The surround sound actually seems to work better than my older unit. I'm getting more use out of my of my rear speakers which didn't happen as I had hoped with the older JVC unit. Setup was fairly simple. My radio connection works better than my older unit as well. To date I am very pleased with my Yamaha unit.

I spent over a month researching brands, the new texh each had, their auto adjustment systems and ended up going back to Yamaha.
I picked this model because of the three year warranty, the fact it had ypao with rsc and because I really liked how it sounded over the Pioneer elite or Denon when I auditioned them in the Magnolia room. The Denon sounded close honestly. Still, this had DTS:x out of the box and was not awaiting a patch for it like the Denon was. After a month of use I can report it works wonderfully. I watch UHD blurays through it and it passes everything to the tv with no handshake issues. Atmos is great once you are setup for it, I actually was surprised at how useful the arc functionality is. Great product.

I had bought a Denon receiver that broke down within weeks of buying it. I thought it may have been due to lightning during a recent storm because it wouldn't even power on. Best Buy sent it out and determined it was actually a part that needed to be replaced, That part was on back order from Denon and the expected date kept moving back. After about 8 weeks of having no receiver to operate the other $4,000 of equipment I bought from Best Buy. for that room, Best Buy did step up and offered to swap out for a new Denon, I had no interest in another one, so I just took the refund.
For an extra $100, I bought this Yamaha from Best Buy. Couldn't be happier with that brand and model. No issues, big sound going through my B&Ws. I found the dials and settings to be fairly easy, but I just keep a cheat sheet near by how I turn the dial for how I set it up.
I should have never bought that Denon to save a little money. I have had another Yamaha in my other room for 16 years and it still works like a champ and was never put in for a repair.

In looking to simplify my audio, I looked at options and decided on the Yamaha Aventage RX A 760. First of all the surround sound mode is outstanding for watching movies or even regular TV shows. The sound is very natural, unlike previous receivers that seemed to boost unwanted elements of broadcasts. This unit has capabilities to pull music off my home pc through the network, provide on TV viewing of the processes and create playlists. Many functions can be controlled through the Music Cast app downloaded from Google Play onto my phone. It can send Bluetooth signal to other locations (and multi zone/ multi source) in house and can be controlled through the phone as well, including volume! The set up can be a bit cumbersome at first if you are not used to this higher end receiver but really simplifies everything when you have it set up.

This was actually to replace another Yamaha receiver, which was a slightly older model, as I needed the newer HDMI ports for my 4K TV and Xbox One S. It requires some tweaking of settings to get sound your are looking for but it's really good quality.
The versatility of this receiver is excellent, especially having a 2nd discreet zone, which I use for outdoor speakers.
Airplay, Bluetooth, Internet radio and built in wireless are all great features.
Using the included mic to handle surround speakers setup is also an excellent feature.
I also use the app for iPhone/iPad and works well.
Highly recommend this product and product line.

I had some equipment failures in the home theater and I replaced the Tv, blue ray player and my receiver with all 4k equipment and oh man what I was missing when I put the first 4k disc in. This was was like a completely new home theater, it really was and what a difference all the new 4k equipment made because it's better than a theater.

I recently purchased this Yamaha receiver after seeing it on sale in the Magnolia area of my local Best Buy. I was researching several AVRs in the $500 - $700 range and decided I couldn't pass it up after seeing it on sale.
I have the new OPPO UDP-203 hooked up to it and ultimately feeding into the Samsung KS8000. The 4K HDR picture is incredible and I couldn't be happier with the sound.
A couple of items to note during setup:
1. Ensure you upgrade the firmware on the AVR - it is very easy and doesn't take much time once you hook up the receive to a wired or wireless connection
2. Run YPAO but double check the results especially if you are running a subwoofer in your system - I had to manually change some of my speakers to "small" to ensure the best bass management
3. The receiver defaults to "Mode 2" and needs to be changed to "Mode 1" (4K mode) to pass through HDR from source components - you have to go through advanced settings but there is an easy walk-through located here http://faq.yamaha.com/us/en/article/audio-visual/aventage/rx-a760_u/11056/9403
I hope this helps!

I was talked into buying this by the manager at Best Buy after comparing this with a similarly priced Denon 720. I had researched the Denon but not the Yamaha. I am pleased to say this was a good selection. Easy to setup, Intuitive enough to hook up and the sound is great, even with my little, simple speakers. I'm using it as a 5.1 system and am very pleased. It does not run too hot which is good since it is in a smaller cabinet under the TV. You won't go wrong with the quality and I am optimistic it will last for many years without issues.

This outstanding Aventage Receiver is consistent with reviews I read. Aventage's Dolby Atmos receiver provided a new level of sound quality with my B&W speaker system. The receiver is driving 9 speakers and remains very cool to the touch in comparison to my Onkyo Integra which required an external fan to keep from overheating.
The only issue could be if you need to call Yamaha about a setup configuration or problem. Yamaha has the worst customer service support. Outstanding product...terrible customer support.

I went into Best Buy looking to buy a specific receiver I had been looking at for a few days, but was directed to this one at the last minute. I don't typically let a salesperson change my mind, but this Yamaha was much better for what I needed. I run a PS4, Cable box, DVD player, old Nintendo NES and turntable into this unit. They all work great. Set up was very easy! The bluetooth function allows me to stream music and it works flawlessly.

This Yamaha receiver was easy to install (use banana plugs for the speakers as the speaker posts are very close together), easy to set speaker volumes for the room, and easy to use on a daily basis. The instruction guide that came with the unit was very lean on information so I downed loaded a very detailed user manual from the Yamaha web page. It's a reasonably good document. I'm very pleased with both the audio and video quality produced from this unit. This unit replaces a 12 year old Marantz receiver that was having a slow death distorting sound, delivering weak video quality and going into protect mode. I first went to BB to buy a Sony unit since I already had a Sony Blu Ray player. The Sony reveiver while ergonomically easy to use was VERY noisy (transformer) and repeatedly jumped into protector mode after 2 weeks' use. Best Buy took it back and gave me another unit that played quite well for about 2 weeks then it crapped out. I returned the 2nd Sony unit. My Best Buy sales consultant then recommended the Yamaha RX-A760 unit. It cost about $100 more however, it stays cool, produces no transformer noise, and produces good video and sound quality at all db levels. I'm very appreciative of the very courteous, professional service given me by Best Buy. They clearly stood by their products and mission to serve their customers. This unit offers a variety of advanced features that I need to check out. That said this unit is GREAT for watching TV and DVDs, and listening to CDs.

Unit had very good reviews online including reliability. Best Buy happened to have a sale on the unit at time I went to check it out in the store. Setup was straightforward using my existing surround sound 5 channel speaker (though unit has 7 channel capability). Surround sound auto setup worked fine. System can also be tweaked manually. Very happy with purchase.

I was able to buy this unit as a discontinued, open box item for over 50% off list price and it's been the best receiver I ever had (I've owned other major brands). The purity that this unit added to my system was incredible. I was extremely easy to set up.

This was a replacement for my older receiver that did not do 4K. I am impressed with the features and output of this receiver. I don't have Atmos speakers but decided to get a receiver with that feature for a possible future upgrade. The Yamaha Aventage line is pretty impressive and I would not hesitate to buy this model again.
