Not sure this receiver deserves only a 1*, but the only reason I bought it was for the Blutooth function. I wanted to warn others that wanted for the same reason. Reviewers here say range is good-very good, they have not tried the Sony. I was excited to buy this unit, I was using an old school receiver with a Sony BM10 receiver plugged into the CD RCA ports. It worked very well, but was too many steps to connect & get up & going. I wanted an all-in-1. Testing the Yamaha, I put my phone line of sight about 20 feet away. When I walked between the phone & receiver, it would cut-out. Taking the phone around the corner of the house, it would cut out. This was unacceptable as my BM10 NEVER was this rangebound. I went back to the search engine & came across the Sony STR DH190 for the same price. It was in stock at a nearby BB. I took a chance because I had such good luck with my BM10. This Sony has MEGA range! Guessing, I would say 5-10 times better than the Yamaha. Left my phone out in the garage over 50 ft. away, closed the door behind me & music is playing FLAWLESSLY. Buy the Sony if you are streaming blutooth.

The receiver was DOA…wired it up,…nothing. Best Buy was excellent however on the purchase and subsequent return process. Sometimes you get a dud. This time I did, but BB handled it.

Very thing works well but not quite enough power. I have 2 fairly large yamaha studio monitors. It takes all 100 watts per channel to run them. If you had todays smaller speAkers it might be enough power. Not sure

I am clueless how any one could rate this higher than 1 star.
It says 100w per channel. No possible way is this a 200w receiver, absolutely not. I had to keep the volume cranked very high.
Also, no bass of any kind, even at max.
And there are no balance controls. You are stuck with the default levels.

On the 3rd one in less than 6 months. Hi, Belinda
This is the 3rd on I have received. The 1st one did the same thing within 3 months. Took it back gave me another one plugged it in nothing, took it back gave me the one you have and again the same thing. One of the salesperson said that the 7th one that did the same thing once in the store out of the box. My question is is this going to fix it and what boards are you replacing and what would be the cause for this to happen ?
The tech responded to me- he had ordered Main Amplifier board & 2 output transistors, he states this is common problem with model R-S202BL, he goes on to explain that this model is delicate and once the volume is turned to a higher/highest volume it blows out the receiver. I hope that answered your questions.
Thank you

Hooked up 4 speakers to the unit all in different rooms as soon as i turned it up more that 3/4 volume the receiver stopped working. Each speaker was rated for 100w .

I purchased this item and about two months later it started going out and not working. I don't know what the problem is, but a small sign comes up and says "speaker" and the receiver shuts down. IN order to get it to work at all, I have to turn the volume down to almost mute. WHAT JUNK!!

Thought I couldn't go wrong with Yamaha. Boy, was I wrong. The sound is downright flat. No dynamics whatsoever. It was supposed to be my garage stereo. I instead connected an old Clarion car head unit to a 35 year old a/d/s/ power plate amplifier with only 40 watts per channel. Now I have punch and dynamics with the exact same speakers. Yamaha and Best Buy should be embarrassed to sell this receiver for any price.
I won't even try to re-sell this receiver on Craigslist. I would feel guilty.
Wish I could return it but Best Buy won't take it back and you can guess why!
