I am a lifelong Yamaha consumer owning over the years dozens of various pieces of audio and video Yamaha equipment. This unit was purchased to replace an existing 10 year old Yamaha AV in a home theater setup. From the moment I turned the unit on it was a disaster. HDMI CEC errors, buggy with complete loss of video and audio. The HDMI eARC was again buggy, the software update process happened without warning, then the unit was acting erratically and was unusable. Reset of the hardware was performed, unit looked to work okay, then every issue it had returned. Listening to audio worked however the sound was very thin and lifeless. Then I did some reading online about these products from Yamaha. Oh dear. The entire unit looked cheap, had no mass to it, the display and buttons were also very poor, junky looking. The sound was very lacking in general. SO I put my original 10 year old Yamaha AV receiver back into service and the first you notice is the sound. It sounds MUCH better and it WORKS flawlessly. All the HDMI CEC functions work perfectly without delay or flaw. Yamaha has maybe taken a turn with new 'innovative' products like this one, designed by someone who is likely new to the industry without any understanding of the Yamaha brand. Yamaha should be ashamed to approve a poor product like this one for sale. It should be replaced with something that works and at least provides stability.

Has everything we needed. Works really great and even tho its quite large it looks nice where we have it.

Receiver well integrated with my Bose speakers and Yamaha center and subwoofer speakers. Josh was the sales person who worked with me and did a great job explaining the features relative to my needs.

GREAT SOUND. EASY TO CONTROL VOLUME. JUST THE RIGHT SIZE FOR SITTING ON MY NEW TV STAND.

Like this receiver but came with wrong remote. Remote works but missing battery cover. Unit was refurbished though.

I reviewed this receiver and did a lot of research on it. I went to buy it and it showed an open box price which stated excellent option. It was shipped to me and I was very excited to get it. To my dismay when I opened the box, one of the antennas was broken. I took it back to Best Buy and tried to get another open box which was advertised on the site and was told that I would have to pay more for it. Same excellent open box option. Was not happy about that and couldn’t understand why I could not buy it for the price I originally paid, no more open box for me

Purchased this receiver for use with a new Sony - 77" class BRAVIA XR A80K 4K HDR OLED TV. Best Buy Totaltech installed it, connecting all of the other components, as well as the TV surround sound. It seems to be a great product. The best thing is that the price dropped $100, and I was able to get a refund within the 60 day time period.
