This receiver has been a source of frustration from me. In all my years have I never used such a buggy AV device, with missing features a year later. Its saving grace is that Yamaha has been updating the firmware regularly, but I reckon I won't be able to use my TVs VRR feature for another year at this rate. What is there now works great for the most part, but what is missing is taking a long time to make it. I still recommend this receiver for the average home cinema set up (at a reduced price), but I'm also worried some promised features might never make it.

Excellent! We love the surround sound! The only drawback was we live in Troy, and you would not provide a set up service for us. We are in our 70's and certainly are not technical savvy. We have been customers for nearly 20 years and feel like this should have been a service that was included. included

The rxv4 is an awsome reciever very loud and clear. It has mutiple functions. Its takes a little while to get used to all the functions but once youve learned it you're good to go. Its an all around great reciever!!

Just bought a 75" Samsung Q60A along with a Denon S450BT receiver. Never could get the two to work properly through the ARC connection. The Yamaha RX-V4A did the trick. I think because they are both eARC (Denon only support ARC). Also channel separation seems better.

It’s better than what I had for sure! Not sure why but I’m not hearing out of my rear speakers lately. Probably operator error. I’ll figure it out. But after 3 weeks it’s great!

Great sound, the music cast app is great! I love being able to turn the unit on and control everything from my phone. It integrates well with every streaming app I use.

The first unit had some trouble connecting to Internet radio. Second one set up easily. Connects easily to my new TV and runs my 5.1 speakers setup. My second Yamaha [have two TV rooms]. I have been pleased with Yamaha quality.

Love this thing. Running all klipsch reference speakers and the sound is amazing. Zero distortion at high volumes. Rocks the block and sounds perfect doing so. Bluetooth has decent distance... Don't forget the subwoofer cables.

I have wanted to buy a Yamaha receiver for years ever since I heard a friends. My Pioneer receiver quit so I decided to get a Yamaha and I'm so glad I did. It has exceeded my expectaions and I am very happy with my puchace.

Needed to replace my old Denon receiver since it is no longer compatible to newer TVs. Decided on this one since I only have 5 Klipsch speakers plus subwoofer and didn't need a 7.1 channel receiver. Great little receiver at an affordable price. Surprisingly sounds better than the Denon.

Absolutely love this Yamaha receiver! I got it as my entry level back into stereo systems. Of course there are better ones out there, but this gave me everything I needed to start building a great system!

This is an excellent mid-range receiver. It has that nice Yamaha sound. The version of YPAO it has did not do a good job for me so I had to do a manual calibration. But it has very nice features like HDMI 2.1. Just update the firmware to enable all the new features. Only has 4 HDMI inputs but that is usually enough and all are HDMI 2.1. And it is limited to 5.1 channel speakers. But for a small room it gets pretty loud with no distortion or lack of power. I like the new look too although some people don't.
