This avr works perfectly and the sound is very good when you stream music. The picture and sound is improved versus my old Denon receiver. The only negative is that the receiver doesn’t tell you when you’re receiving a Dolby surround broadcast.

With lots of cool features like wi-fi, music streaming, and bi-amp capability; it’s an interesting unit. However, as we all know, in every dream home a heartache; In every dream deal a dealbreaker! An unstable HDMI system in an AV unit is a dealbreaker for me. Many of you may know that recently, Yamaha has had issues with gaming video but my experience with HDMI in this model has not been good in general. Reading up on the subject everything from 2.1 cables to various settings have been suggested but so far I’ve had no luck. The geeks might have the answer or maybe Yamaha will eventually get back to me, but my view is that none of that should be necessary. Bugs should be worked out of a product before it hits the market, period. End of story

Needed to replace a pre smart receiver and this thing is wicked. Set-up was a breeze and haven't performed a room calibration yet but, soon.

My second time buying great reciever with all the essentials. I got it on sale and open box at 350$ but it didnt come with a remote not complaining since it was far from normal price of 600$

Replaced 10 year old Sony receiver that stopped switching. So glad that I did. This Yamaha receiver is just perfect for my bedroom surround system. I have the higher end Yamaha AV receiver in my TV room and it's killer.

Great surround sound from all 5 speakers, plus subwoofer. Easily switches between cable and Roku. Install and setup by Willie G was perfect.

My surround sound Yamaha system came within a couple days of ordering, love that fast turnaround!! It not only met my expectations but exceeded them and sounds amazing being played through my Klipsch speakers!! Home theater...done right! Great buy, great performance, great fast service!!

This is our second Yamaha receiver. Love being able to get XM around the house. Able to pick up many more radio stations from around the area. Awesome sound for tv, movies. Very easy to connect and use

The receiver was a game changer for me. I had a Onkyo that was a really great unit but it was just not there power wise. This unit is all there except the ATMOS part. You will just love it!!!

This is an awesome A/V receiver, I especially like how to set up the speaker settings with the microphone process. The system sounds great for TV and radio and the ability to listen to Sirius XM. and other internet radio stations. is also great!

Excellent receiver, puts out great sound. I like that there is an app that you can control receiver with, since I have mine installed in a closet out of sight. Easy to use.

Works ok.No problems.Someone told me if you get another antenna it should be a exact replacement.Look exactly like the old one.I hooked a dipole antenna that looked different and the sound quality decreased.On the ad it says its for yamaha recievers.it was a small wire antenna like the original one but it would make a t.

Wonderful unit. Sound clarity is amazing and when watching good sci-fi movies (as is my case) you really feel like youre there. As a hi-fi nut, Im very particular with my audio quailty and Yamaha has always stepped up to the plate. Definitely recommend.

Needed to upgrade the old receiver to work with the new cable box and add a Fire cube to the system. Set up was easy, the only glitch I ran into was not Yamahas issue. I had to change the delay time on my Harmony remote as it wasn't switching to the correct input.

I first bought the Denon competitor to the Yamaha the Denon sounded great but got hot when I played it loud the Yamaha does not get hot when I ran on my walls at a turn up the power I love my Yamaha

Nice receiver. Price is a little high for what you get. Should be able to get a 7.2 receiver for this price.

Good receiver. Only running a 2.0 setup currently but I like all of the customization options as I add on to my system. The app to connect is a bit wonky but does eventually work after trying to connect a few times. A little disappointing you have to go to their website for the full manual but it seems all electronics are that way now.

Buying used the unit didn't last long. Attempted to hook up a sub and the unit stopped working.

Easy setup, great sound, love the added benefit of streaming from either my Apple or Amazon Music accounts. Seamless performance in that regard, just puts a Bluetooth button on the included remote and away you go. Amplification for radio channels is very good, crisp, clean and clear. Almost too loud even at -25db’s…impressive!
