First, I have to say the $14.99 is well worth having Best Buy install it for you. It was perfect and not a bubble or smudge to see. The idea behind this product is great, glare and smudge/fingerprint proof. However, once I got my ipad back it was like looking through a TV that is getting a slight static or fuzzy reception in the 90's. Awful, you cannot read emails without seeing the blue, red, & green specs running all around making you feel nauseous and if you work on it long enough, a headache. I really hope they discontinue this product until they can improve on the problems it causes, the ipad screen is horrible with it on. I called Best Buy and they said they do not normally exchange it but they will do a one-time swap for me and allow me to get the clear one applied which according to the reviews is great. I attached a pic of my screen which you can kind of see the problems....

this product is god awful. It diffuses the pixels and makes the screen indiscernible. its not even close to usable. waited the allotted time to "settle" and still just awful.
i've enclosed a picture of the effect on the display. its just embarrassing to Zagg and Bestbuy to sell a product like this. the colorful speckling on the iPad is not a function of the camera, its a true picture of the distortion.

I bought the smudge-proof screen shield, exchanged it for the HD Clear version. Why mess up the amazing image of the Ipad 4th gen with a screensaver? This product would be great for anyone who uses their Ipad in very bright places and isn't very picky about the image quality. The thousands of little bumps that make it smudge and glare-proof cause the light coming out of the screen to refract, straight lines are no longer perfectly straight. I hope that they work this out because I loved the tactile quality of touching the screen, the anti-glare and the smude-proof-ness. Even the associate at BB agreed that it was installed well, but messed up the image. Maybe I just got unlucky and got one from a bad run.

I bought this because it was supposed to be a non-glare screen protector. It did remove some glare, but it really didn't remove much. I really didn't like the way it made the screen look. It took the HD look of the screen and made it look like a TV screen from 1975.
I took it off after trying to get used to it for a few weeks.

The screen protector is a great thing. My ipad looks brand new due to my having this protector. I have no scratched on it. It also has a warranty which I like very much.

The screen cover is needed around a 2 year old. Would be nice if it was non-glare.

I have had this for 5 years and it is still working perfect. The battery holds a charge for months. I only charge it 2-3 time per year and I use it all the time.

Very expensive for terrible look

I have no doubt that this screen protector is durable, but it was really expensive for only one sheet of protector that makes the beautiful, crystal clear screen of the iPad look grainy and almost distorted. It is still on my iPad because I paid $40 for it and I haven't found a replacement yet. It was also quite complicated and cumbersome to apply. I hope it doesn't tear up my screen to remove it! I would not recommend this product!!

I should've checked out the review of this product before I purchased it, but I needed a screen protector for my iPad 2 fast and did not have much time to look around. The cover says "Millions Sold!" and other things that would make you think this is a very good product. Well, it's the WORST screen protector I have ever purchased (and I've purchased MANY screen protector products for my gadgets before) and the most OVERPRICED one, as well (I paid $36.74 incl tax). After applying it to my iPad screen, immediately I could tell that I made a terrible mistake. It makes your iPad screen looks horrible and you lose the sharpness and all the good things the new iPad has to offer with its excellent screen resolution.
Best Buy's return policy does not cover screen protector that has already been applied - so forget about returning it. I'm removing this thing off my iPad screen. I'd rather lose my money than to have to live with it. Don't make the same mistake that I did! I learned my lesson and would never buy anything from ZAGG again.

The shield does protect the face of the ipad, but it is quite cumbersome to put on and makes the face of the ipad dull. It really is quite expensive for what you get. I would not recommend this item.

Protects, but affects screen quality

The product went on with ease and did what was promised-protected against smudges and scratches. However, it was not an easy application and, furthermore, I noticed that the screen is somewhat fuzzy now. So yes, the screen is protected and has a lot less fingerprints than before (the touchscreen is not affected by the protective cover) but the screen quality looks so bad that I am tempted to peel it off.

So, I bought my first apple product the other day...my first iPad 2. And not knowing much about how to protect it, took the advice of the sales associate to pick up this anti-glare invisible shield. After asking if it would change the resolution at all, and they said no, I was like ok, for $5 more I'll get it. After installation, I looked at the screen and the picture quality is SEVERELY degraded! I read a review that says it looks like "an old TV" and that's 100% right! Do not buy this product! It's not worth the money! I quickly removed the shield.

Worst screen protector ever

Can't believe I wasted money on this product. I have Zagg covers for iPod touch and kindle that I love. Was excited to see a new version with anti-glare. The screen is unreadable due to level of distortion. Had it on for less than one day. Worst part is that is that it costs even more than the clear version. Looks like Ivey to spend an additional $30 for the clear version. Wish I could rank it lower than 1 star.

I got this screen protector because this one is supposed to be scratch and smudge proof. Also anti-glare. It seems to do all of the very well. I didn't have any problems installing it, aligning it correctly or getting the air bubbles out.
However I was very disappointed as soon as I turned on my iPad, the screen was very grainy. It's a noticeable difference from a clean, unfilmed iPad. I think it's the anti-glare part that makes it look like it does. I was tempted to rip it off but thought I would see how I felt the next day. Later that evening I watched a couple of movies on my iPad and didn't notice the graineyness at all. It only jumps out on white backgrounds.
I'm going to keep it on but it is a big negative. I strongly recommend you see what it looks like before buying because of the price. That's the other negative, the price. Seems expensive for one piece of plastic.

I bought this hoping to deal with the massive glare issue of the original invisishield (which worked very well). I had my iPad outside and I could barely read anything let alone see pictures. The quality of the unit has been drastically degraded because of the screen anti glare technology. I am taking this back. The idea was great but the execution was not well thought out. I mean did anyone try to look at the iPad after applying this anti glare technology outside? apparently not. I will have to go back to old faithful. I bought the same shield for my iPhone 4 as well, same dramatic degrading effect. I am not impressed at all.

I have used Zagg products in the past, the Invisible Shield on a Kindle Fire; so when I upgraded to the iPad 2 I wanted another Zagg...but I wasn't crazy about the 'tacky' feeling of the invisible shield so I went with the smudge proof shield after a recomendation from one of the BB employees who said that it is a little more rigid and not as soft (which is where the 'tacky' feeling came from). After 1 day of the smudge proof shield I was back at BB having it taken off. It was smudge proof and smoother under your finger without the tacky feel, but it is completely visible and even casts a slight rainbow hue around all of the pixels on the screen. I found that I couldn't even look at the screen for more than a few seconds after a while, without getting a headache from the distortion; which was another big annoyance..why have a top of the line HD image, that is now distorted form the screen protector? I had it replaced with the plain old invisible shield, which while still feels a little tacky to the touch IS completely invisible and does not distort the screen at all. My only other tip is to definitely have them install it...this goes on like window tint on your car, and we have all seen a bad hack job on the window tint where you can see all the air bubbles and finger prints right? You want to see that every time you flick on your iPad? For me, I will just clean off the prints from the inviible shield, which aren't that bad anyway. I would give this product no stars if I could; but I give the regular invisible shield 4 stars.

Screen blurred Smudge-Proof InvisibleSHIELD

I purchased the smudge-proof ZAGG shield but did not pay to have it installed. I installed the screen myself. No bubbles and everything is straight. However, the shield itself is horrible. Not at all clear, all text is very blurry. I started getting head aches just looking at the screen. I've used ZAGG for all of my family mobile and Apple devices for years and never had any compaints. I contacted ZAGG to let them know how dissatisfied I was with this smudge-proof product, but since I did not purchase directly from zagg.com, they were unable to offer me an exchange or refund. I kind of understand the refund part, but why will they not do an exchange for the clear invisibleSHIELD. I called Best Buy and they too are unwilling to do a refund or exchange. This hardly sounds fair to the consumer. I only purchased the ZAGG product 10 days ago. I didn't do anything immediately because I thought maybe after a week the screen would get better. I now own three iPad 2s with HD displays ruined by this screen protector. ZAGG did respond again via email and did admit the invisibleSHIELD has suffered slightly in clarity. I think this is an understatement. I now regret ever purchasing this shield and on top of that regret purchasing from Best Buy. ZAGG offers a 45 day money back guarantee but only if you buy directly from them. You would think Best Buy would stand behind this product for at least 14 to 30 days after purchase.

Very hard to put on and it will not line up with the top and bottom holes on your iPad. After finally messing with it for 45 minutes I got it somewhat lined up. The clarity is horrible it makes the screen look very blurry. Save your time & money don't buy this product.
