A: Trust me you want the hard wired it takes 10 minutes. Just use your outdoor front porch light. Turn power off from box Take down old light fixture. Replace flood light Two wires attached and you’re pretty much done. Adjust as needed
A: Hello You have an option to let it stay on or off. You control it through the app. If set up on your phone it will say a person is at front door. You control the perimeters. You can even set it to only notify you when people or near instead of cars. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve had mine over a year and I love it. I preferred it over the doorbell because of the LED lights that lit up my whole front yard.

A: Hi Lilo9169, To piggyback on the previous answer given by the community member below; no, we do not presently have a solar solution for hardwired devices such as the Ring Floodlight Cam. While each of our hardwired solutions require specific amperage to function, the Ring Floodlight Cam requires between 110-240 VAC to operate. We can appreciate the value of this question, as It's important to consider solutions to continue to power your device if there is no power. However, we do feel it is important to note that without a source of power from the home, there is likely to not be wifi available either. Your experience with Ring is impactful on our future as a company, and we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. If you have any experiences to share, questions regarding Ring and our services, or any feedback and product suggestions, we encourage you to have your voice be heard: https://community.ring.com/!
