Q: Will I be able to hear my annoying wife through these?
A: Not in any way. She will most defintely will become more annoying because you will not be able to hear her.

A: If your smart phone has an auxiliary plug then yes but with new iPhones that don’t have auxiliary plugs it won’t and it isn’t Bluetooth.
A: Since the Elo X Stereo is an analog headset that does not come with any driver software to configure its settings, there also is no native option of improving its noise reduction capabilities. The microphone doesn't have any such built-in features either. Therefore, if you need to reduce background noise, you will have to rely on the noise cancellation feature of the communication software you are using or on additional software tools. Thankfully, most modern communication programs feature quite advanced tools of this kind.
