A: Yes, the stainless steel is not stainless under the knobs. For me in 8 months time, it has pitted and discolored from heat under normal use- and cannot be cleaned. The material is not stainless steel and is advertised as Stainless cooktop. Samsung warranty will not cover the repair or replacement. Repair for that part (Face plate bezel) is well over $500.
A: 22,000 BTU center burner instead of 19,000 Wok grate As far as I can tell, those are the only differences.
A: Just received my cooktop today and it does have electrical power cord attached with 120 volt plug.
Q: what is the cutout width and depth for this unit, im replacing a whirlpool gold 30' by 20' unit
A: Cooktop cut out dimension 28 1/2" x 3 1/8" x 19 5/8"
A: The distance between the two left side rings (center to center) is about 7.5 in. The distance between the a left side ring to the center ring (center to center) is about 9.75 in. Hope this helps.
Q: all the knobs are getting so hot while cooking is that true? please let me know
A: Nonsense. This is the best cooktop I have ever used. I use the 22k burner the most, and ALL of the knobs remain cool while using this burner AT FULL BLAST.
Q: Does the griddle get hot enough to sear a steak?
A: Yes, it gets hot enough to sear a steak.
Q: Are the knobs metal or plastic?
A: Metal. The overall knob and the shaft that connects to the main unit are metal. There are some plastic bits underneath that appear related to the how the knob glows blue, but don't look important to the knob's strength or functioning.

If you're looking for a solid, reliable gas cooktop that won't break the bank but still offers some thoughtful features, this one deserves a look. The Good Stuff (Pluses): * Consistent and Powerful Heat: This cooktop delivers dependable heat across all burners. Whether you're gently simmering a delicate sauce or bringing a large pot of water to a rapid boil, the flame control is responsive and consistent. You're not going to find wild temperature swings here, which is crucial for good cooking. * Versatile Burner Sizes: Samsung smartly configured this cooktop with a good mix of burner sizes to handle various cooking needs: * Right Front: 18K BTU Power Burner: This is your workhorse. It heats up quickly and provides serious firepower for searing, stir-frying, and getting things boiling in a hurry. * Left Front: 9.5K BTU Burner: A good all-purpose burner for medium-sized pots and pans. * Right Rear: 5K BTU Simmer Burner: Excellent for low and slow cooking, delicate sauces, and keeping things warm without scorching. * Left Rear: 9.5K BTU Burner: Another solid all-rounder, providing consistent heat for everyday cooking tasks. This variety means you're less likely to be stuck with a burner that's too big or too small for the job at hand. * Durable Stainless Steel Construction: The stainless steel surface looks clean and is relatively easy to wipe down. It holds up well to everyday use and doesn't scratch easily, which is a big plus for maintaining its appearance over time. * Reliable Electronic Ignition: The electronic ignition system fires up the burners quickly and consistently without any fuss. No more fumbling with a lighter! This is a standard feature these days, but Samsung's implementation feels robust. * Sturdy Cast Iron Grates: The continuous cast iron grates provide a stable and level cooking surface. They can handle heavy pots and pans without wobbling, and the continuous design makes it easy to slide cookware between burners without lifting. * Clear and Intuitive Controls: The front-mounted knobs are easy to grip and turn, offering precise flame control. The markings are clear and don't wear off easily, which is a small but important detail for long-term usability. Things to Consider (Minuses): * Stainless Steel Can Show Fingerprints: While durable and easy to clean overall, the stainless steel surface is prone to showing fingerprints and smudges. You'll likely find yourself wiping it down frequently to keep it looking its best. * Burner Cap Design (Minor Gripe): While functional, the design of the burner caps isn't the most innovative. They can sometimes be a little tricky to realign perfectly after cleaning, though this is a minor inconvenience. * No Built-in Timer or Advanced Features: This is a straightforward gas cooktop. If you're looking for features like built-in timers, smart connectivity, or specialized burner technologies, you won't find them here. It focuses on core cooking functionality. * Potential for Surface Staining: While the stainless steel is generally durable, spills left to sit for extended periods can sometimes be a bit stubborn to remove and could potentially lead to staining if not addressed promptly. Reliability and Materials: From a pragmatic standpoint, the Samsung NA30N6555TS feels well-built. The materials used – stainless steel for the surface and cast iron for the grates – are standard for this class of cooktop and are known for their durability and longevity. User reviews generally point to good reliability, with few reports of major mechanical issues. Samsung has a decent reputation for appliance reliability, and this model seems to align with that. In Conclusion: The Samsung 30" Gas Cooktop NA30N6555TS is a solid choice for anyone seeking a reliable and functional gas cooktop without unnecessary bells and whistles. It offers consistent heat, versatile burner sizes, and a durable construction. While it might require a bit of extra wiping to keep the stainless steel sparkling and lacks advanced features, its core cooking performance and ease of use make it a worthwhile investment for everyday cooking. If you prioritize dependable performance and good value, this cooktop is definitely worth considering.

Very nice. Very sleek. Very sturdy meaning very well built. Cast iron grates are very heavy. Heats well. Never use the WiFi. All it does is tell you its on or off. So I consider it a worthless feature that probably cost me $100. We get lots of compliments on how nice it is and we like having the knobs in the front instead of the side. And so far, they don't get hot. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely love this cooktop! We wanted an LG to match our other appliances but it was turning into a hassle to make that happen and LG doesn’t have the nicer features in their 30” models. So, we went with Samsung timidly as we haven’t always had the best luck w Samsung. To our surprise and hope it is awesome! The superboil is exactly as described! Also, this cooktop comes with features that other didn’t and had to be bought separately. For instance, the griddle, the wok holder, and the WiFi connected feature. This is handy bc we have little hands that find it fascinating to grab and the phone shows when a burner is on. Also, the lighting around the knobs is very nice and only lights up when it is on. Making it easy to spot when a burner is on intentionally or accidentally. All in all great buy!
