Samsung - 55" Class (54-5/8" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV

This BEAUTIFUL HDTV looks like a masterpiece on my living room wall. I Love it ! There are still so many things I need to learn about it's functions and features. Our Samsung - 55" Class Smart - HDTV is by far the best television we ever purchased. The clarity and high definition of the product is remarkable. There are so many apps and the sound is amazing. I am 100% happy with this product. I will recommend it to all my friends.

After looking for a new TV for several months, I finally saw this Samsung. The salesman at Best Buy took his time to review all of the features of this tv in comparison to similar TV's. This TV is perfect for my new home. The color and clarity of the pictures are phenomenal. I would highly recommend this TV.

Very satisfied with this purchase, while it is not top of the line it does have Samsungs basic quality standards that in my opinion surpass every other brand out there. If you are looking for a bigger, quality TV for a decent price, this is for you.

Pros: Purchased this TV after looking at on-line reviews and after having a poor experience with a Sony 44 inch Bravia. So far so good with the Samsung 55 inch. Owned for about a month and a half. The Samsung picture is excellent, fed by Verizon FIOS. Positioned in the room corner against a wall that is floor to ceiling windows. Almost 3-D with good color, contrast and back lighting. No complaints with the sound or volume. Very good price compared to other TVs. Cons: On line comments and instructions reference a gesture control camera option. It took inquiring on an on-line blog to find out that the model TV I have does not have this option. Didn't want it anyway, but the one size fits all instruction book doesn't differentiate the options on different models. The biggest negative is the narrow, weak, flimsy center post TV stand this 55 inch model comes with. I had to shim some screws on the stand to get the TV near level. Would have returned it same day if it continued to be an issue. If you have a bouncy floor it would probably rock back and forth a lot when you walked by. A wall mount would obviously make this a moot point, but that's not how I have it set up at this time. Only other negative is that it has only 2 HDMI ports. It works for where we have it, but it should be considered if you will be adding X-box Wii or other components.

We purchased this TV a couple of months ago and definitely are satisfied with the purchase. The picture is beautiful and the colors are incredibly vibrant. I love the ability to use this television online so that we can access Netflix, HBOGO and Amazon instant prime. A lot of people have written negative reviews in different corners of the internet about the wait time to open different video applications. I will be honest and say that as soon as you turn on the tv and for a few minutes after, you can't access the apps. If you wait a whole five minutes though, everything should run smoothly. It often gives a message saying the tv is still starting up or that the application cannot be accessed at this time. To be perfectly honest, the wait time is no more than a so-called "first world problem," and we have absolutely no problem waiting a couple minutes for things to start going. One negative review I have about the product is that the Netflix sometimes has trouble with volume control and crashing. A quick reboot of the television usually helps out when it crashes, but I have noticed that the volume control doesn't get much easier. I would definitely recommend this product to someone who isn't completely impatient. I would say, though, that if you don't plan to use the intenet connection on the television, don't purchase the smart television option. Pleased with our purchase.

Bought this set (my 3rd Samsung) for living room in our new house. Happy with the picture quality and view-ability from various angles. There are a lot of features available which are nice: wireless connection to home network, Netflix, Crackle, Youtube easily available. Smart TV Interface is a little confusing and how you rearrange stuff seems difficult. However, it does remember what you used last and moves it to the front of the line. For the most part, all you see in the menu is the service's icon (and there are lots of them!) and when you highlight it there is no useful information to figure out what it is about. I was very interested in streaming from network attached drives and it does that easily. However, I can't figure out how to pause, rewind or fast forward when playing those videos. That is very disappointing because I thought I could eliminate my WD media player and just use the TV. The sound seems pointed down and in our open floor plan house with wood floors we can hear the TV better in our kitchen than in the living room. So I bought a cheap sound bar with front firing speakers and fed the sound out of the TV with an optical cable. A nice feature of the TV is that when you connect external speakers using the optical output, it does NOT disable the internal TV speakers. That means a family member can just turn on the TV without powering up the sound bar and still use the TV speakers. Overall, very happy with the TV.
