A: Yes, you can use this dryer without connecting it to water for the steam function.
Q: is it good for drying king size comforter?
A: I'm not sure if you still need this or if it was answered already... I have a California King bed and my comforter fits just fine. It sometimes gets a little "twisted" during the drying cycle and needs a little longer, but that's been the worst experience so far.
A: It's a water line. Installers will hook it up. There is a Y connector that connects to the water line to your washer. If your washer and dryer aren't side by side you'll need to purchase and extension hose.
