  • Key Specs
    • Storage Capacity: 2000 gigabytes (Measured in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB) and terabytes (TB), this is the amount available for storing files, music, movies, photos and more. The total includes the capacity of the hard disk drive and solid state drive if both are included on the computer.)
    • Storage Drive Type: SSD (Traditional, mechanical hard disk drives are the most common type of storage because they're relatively inexpensive and offer huge capacities. However, they also generate both noise and heat. Solid state drives, also known as SSDs, are many times faster than hard disk drives and have no moving parts to wear out, but typically offer less capacity for the same price.)
    • Maximum Read Speed: 550 megabytes per second (The greatest speed at which the device can read information; for example, opening files.)
    • Maximum Write Speed: 520 megabytes per second (The greatest speed at which the device can write information; for example, saving files.)
    • Interface(s): SATA (Refers to the types of connections that devices use to interact and communicate with each other.)

The cache holds the most recently and frequently used data to save the drive the extra step of pulling it from permanent storage every time it's needed, which helps increase the drive's overall speed.)
    • NAND Flash Memory Type: MLC (Single Level Cell (SLC) stores 1 bit of data per memory cell; Multi Level Cell (MLC) stores 2 bits per cell, Triple Level Cell (TLC) 3 bits, and Quad Level Cell (QLC) 4 bits. Vertical NAND (V-NAND) or 3D NAND stores more data by layering cells vertically. Similarly, there are 3D MLC, 3D TLC and 3D QLC stacked cells.)

Q: Currently using an HGST HTS541075A9E68, can the Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD replace the current HDD in my HP Pavilion Laptop?

A: As long as the drive you are replacing is a standard SATA connector 2.5” drive then you should be fine. Looking up your current HDD, I cannot see a reason why you would have any problems with it. The HGST HTS541075A9E68 looks to be the same form factor and connector as the Samsung EVO 860 SDD.

Q: Will this work on a MacBook 2012

A: If you are talking about a 2012 MacBook Pro 13" or 15" (17"???) NOT RETINA, then yes. In fact you can swap out the optical drive using an adapter [https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/Data_Doubler] to put in 2 SSDs. I've done that. The Retina laptops use "Instead of a hard disk drive, the new models ship with a solid state drive housed in a proprietary flash module design rather than a 2.5" notebook drive." [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacBook_Pro#Second_generation_(Unibody)]

Q: Will this Ssd work in an Dell Inspiron 15 7559? Thanks.

A: Yes. This is sata base. Old Hard Disc Drives aka HDD are sata cable based. Simply unscrew and unplug old hard drive and install this exactly where the old one was. Might need a SSD bracket to accommodate the size difference of the old hard drive.

Q: Will this drive work in a gaming laptop (though not used for gaming), MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro.

A: I have one in my gaming G70 from ASUS & it works fine! Faster speeds & loading!
