Q: Can I use this s980 Samsung m.2 nvme on my Msi b450 tomahawk max?
A: It would most likely work, but it seems like the b450 tomahawk only has 1 gen3 M.2 slot. Since this is a PCIE gen 4 drive, you would be limited to the bandwidth of the slot. It would be a better Idea to go with a cheaper, PCIE Gen 3 SSD such as the 970 Evo, because you would get similar performance for a lower price in this situation. If you need the increased bandwidth of a PCIE gen 4 SSD, You would need to upgrade your motherboard to one that supports PCIE gen 4 and make sure that your CPU supports gen 4 as well.
Q: Will it work in Surface Laptop 2?
A: After tearing my surface laptop 2 apart the answer is definitely no. It is disposable and no component is replaceable. Supposedly on the surface laptop 3 you can replace the hard drive. I was hoping to remove the hard drive in the laptop 2 for file recovery but there is no hard drive to remove, everything is integrated into the motherboard. Pretty upset SSD dying after 20 months.
