A perfectly fine phone at a great price!

My wife and I switched to Sprint on their 4 line promotion. A major reason for that was to bring my older brother and 91 year old mother into the 21st Century. That is, they have never had cell phones. My brother was planning a long trip, and my mother still drives, so we were concerned about both of them. However, we certainly didn't want to spend a lot of money for the phones. Turns out, we didn't. With Sprint's promotion, we got 4 lines for the price of our usual 2. (Beware, though - that promotion ends 6/18, and God knows what the service will cost after that.) The J3's we got them were on promotion, too, and they wound up being FREE! Certainly can't beat that! But, free phones???? Frankly, in working with these phones to prep them for my family, I was surprised at how substantial they were, and were like any good smartphone. Did not appear in any way cheap or chintzy. While I'm not the one using them on a daily basis, they really seemed perfectly fine. I can't comment on their performance, but I can say that they seemed lovely, esp for the price. If this were my first smartphone, I'd be perfectly happy to include them in my shopping.

I was part of the note 7 recall during that time sprint and best buy stop honoring the upgrade policy which my npte 7 was . So i was stuck with the options of keep the note 7 that was paid for already (untill samsung cut battery life and service to it. Buy a new phone i didn't want because i utilize the note feature for work. Or go back to my note 2 and buy note tablets to transfer all my 7 years of info onto because i had no space left and had to reture the 7 mind you for a stpre credot which is what I did. Until the note 2 started to go on me so i had no choice to buy somthing inexpensive so i can pay it off so if bu some chane a new note comes out soon I will have my upgrade stil . That being said the phones itself functions and features are ok for the price the size is small for me considering what i was using. Biggest issue is the camera not the quality of the pictures are not good .its like comparing apples to oranges However for the price its a good basic phone .

    Greatphone for Price

I had to get a replacement for my S7 after the screen went out. I didn't have insurance or another $400+ for a new S7. So the J3 was suggested to me, i never heard of the model before. Battery life is 5-star, however speed is not, it is kinda slow loading things and DON'T use the GoogleMaps if you plan on getting messages or calles during the app running cause it will just lock up every time. That is my ONLY complaint, it's not always slow but some apps it very much is. But for the price I paid which was nothing cause an agreement between me and AT&T. I won't say much about it since they really didn't have to give me a free phone, but I would say the phone is good for the price, I like the removable battery and back cover for the memory card. sound is great for people with little money older people or kids this phone is great.

    Just what was needed

The Samsung phone is an inexpensive version of the Galaxy phones that are the brand's flagship brand. The phone works very much like the old Galaxy 4 that I still use daily. It was selected for my elderly dad who had never used a cell phone before. It was easy to teach him to use because both my mom and I have used Samsung smart phones. This phone fit the need of keeping dad in touch when he's out on his own without overwhelming him. The best thing was that the phone was free when I added it to my family plan. In the section below, I will recommend the phone with the explanation that the phone is good for the purpose it serves. Someone who is used to a high end phone will not be happy with it.

Solid entry-level Android crippled by bloatware

The J3 is a tried-and-true design by Samsung as their entry-level device. The specs on this model are truly all-around entry-level, but not bare bones. 16GB paired with 1.5GB of RAM with a 1.4Ghz Snapdragon 425 is totally sufficient for general usage, but the problem is the immense amount of bloatware that just sucks up all usability from the device. It really doesn't help the user experience when power on to actually using the device is over half an hour because of forced updates, forced bloatware install (and removal), and having to dismiss all of the bloatware notifications.

This is very good phone it gets the job done it's a little glitchy if you run background apps it has a small problem where it starts the screen off with he contact app when you swipe the screen but it could be limited to just my phone ■Pros■ Reliable Easy to use Responsive screen Decent ram Decent space how ever I use google drive to store my pictures and documents ■Cons■ KIND OF SLOW what do you expect from a 200 dollar phone but it's worth your money if you need a quick phone that has good functionality and there cell phone plans are competive Said enough overall I like my JS3 If you like to consult Search this out ---> If ya want more info about this phone

I don't personally use this device as it was purchased for my brother, but he doesn't have any negative experiences hindering his enjoyment of the device. It's not a top of the line smartphone, but it is still a highly functional device and he is satisfied with its performance in regards to the tasks that he wishes to complete on this phone. He doesn't play any mobile games, so I can't attest to how well this phone will run more graphics intensive games, but it seems plenty powerful enough to run most of what you will find on the Google Play store just fine based off the spec sheet.

I bought this phone for my son. At first I was going to go with a traditional flip phone, but realized that with parental controls and smartphone technology, this phone was the best deal for the money! It gives my son the capabilities of doing everything we do on our phones yet with a lesser cost to us plus I love the parental controls to see what he is doing when I need to or even when I dont. I like the idea of a good value phone for an inexpensive cost plus modern day tecnology that I can keep an eye on from my own phone.
