Q: Can I buy from BB and then activate with Verizon without changing my current plan?
A: Yes, you can. I bought the phone from BB and they activated it to my Verizon acct. with no changes being made to my current plan. Verizon will charge you the $30 upgrade fee if you are upgrading, but they charge that even if you buy the phone from them.
A: I purchased my S6 Edge on the 24-month payment plan through Best Buy almost three years ago. The phone payment was added to my Verizon bill each month for one total phone and usage bill. I never had separate bills for Best Buy for the phone and another from Verizon for my phone/data plan.
Q: Can you put more money down and lower the monthly cost?
A: I just upgraded my son's phone through best buy. When doing this she asked if I would like put money down, I did and it lowered my monthly payments.
Q: What is the difference between the S9 and the S9+?
A: The S9+ has a larger screen and 6 gigabytes of ram whereas the S9 has a smaller screen and only 4 gigabytes of ram. The ram affects the speed of downloads etc and has no bearing on your phones memory capacity. You can also insert a micro SD card into the phone to increase the phones memory capacity or to just use as your memory so as not to use up the internal pre-installed memory on your S9.
Q: Is there a limit as to how much down payment you can put down? can you just pay cash?
A: I was told that it varies with which carrier you use. I use Verizon, so I am paying for 24 months, but after I make the first monthly payment I am going to pay the phone off. That is what the salesman told me to do.
Q: what is the discount on upgrade?
A: Depends on what phone you are trading in. My Galaxy 7 Edge was worth about $450.00 towards my new phone.
Q: Does my phone get activated at best buy or do I have to bring it to verizon?
A: If you purchase it in the store, the associate will activate the product and move all your files to your new phone. My experience was moving from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to a Samsung Galaxy S9.
