Great upgrade even from Galaxy S8+
||Posted .The phone functions very similar to the Galaxy S8+ that I upgraded from. The benefits for me are the fact that the picture and video has been upgraded. I use my phone for family video's very often and the faster processor in this phone seems to show when I am recording video in the highest setting. This phone responds much faster than the S8+ that I had previously and doesn't have the frame stutter that I experienced before. I loved my Galaxy S8+ but this was a great upgrade for me even though I was sure it would be when I made the decision. I would recommend this phone even if it weren't for the fact that the picture and video weren't updated because the phone in general seams to be quicker with every other task that I use it for as well.

5 Star for hardware. Software is something else.
Posted .First, I need to be upfront. I am a Windows Phone/Mobile user since Windows Mobile 2003 SE right up to the last real phone, the Lumia 950(There was a Blackberry Curve in there somewhere) Windows phone revival was officially cancelled a few days ago, I decided it was time to pull the band-aid off. I have had the S9 Plus for a few days now and I have to say that the hardware seems to be top notch. Screen looks great, no stutters bouncing around and the few pics I have taken look good. Aside from not being used to the hard-button placement, I can spot nothing wrong with this device. However.... I have spent more time than I care to admit converting this in to a Window Phone replica(Launcher10, Edge, Bing, Cortana, Office, OneDrive, etc.). And I was reasonably successful in doing so but It's still Android underneath. The best I can say is that the app selection is unlimited. After that, boy does this thing feel sloppy coming from the Win-Phone environment. Settings are all over and a mess. Widgets and alerts pop up all over the place. Constant "virus alert" pop up while browsing. Tons of "junk" to uninstall. Had a hard time convincing Bixby to leave me alone. His button now opens Bing :-)… I imagine that once I get used to some of these annoyances, I'll be fine. - Final summary: If you come from the Android world, this is a really nice phone. If you come from Windows and probably Apple, be prepared for some adjustments. I won't take away any stars because of my own adjustment.

This phone is very fragile
Posted .Although Samsung claims these phones are water and dust proof with gorilla glass screens, these claims are misleading, if not outright deceitful. Over 50% of the phone is not gorilla glass. The beautiful and slippery back is not gorilla glass and is easily scratched and cracked. The entire wrap between the front and back of the phone is a plastic which scratches remarkably easily. So the IP68 water proof and dust proof rating is virtually worthless. The 35 hour battery with 15 hours of internet on 4g is also a ridiculous claim. My phone is hitting 40% after less than three hours of active use. Brand new phone hitting one fifth the manufacturer's advertising is unacceptable. And next, updates are an ever present distraction. My phone insisted on as many as two updates a day for the first week I owned it. This last week I've only been forced to update it twice. I would highly recommend buying a different phone if durability and long lasting are important to you.

Awesome! Left Apple for good
||Posted .Beautiful phone, very smooth and fast. Best camera on any phone period! Battery life seems great, I literally didn’t sit this thing down yesterday and the battery was still going at 1 am. I also think it has the best display on any phone right now. The ar emoji is nothing more than a gimmick but so is apples soo. I’ve been an Apple guy since the iPhone 4 and just had a iPhone 7 that I traded for this, I wasn’t about to get the iPhone X, IMO Apple has been going down hill since Jobs passed away, no new innovation or quality control there anymore. My iPhone 7 was so buggy. I was a little nervous at first but after setting it up for a day, I finally have it the way I want it and love it. Android is different in every way, but I love the customization. If you’ve been thinking about switching like I have been for a year, don’t hesitate on this one you won’t be disappointed

Samsung Galaxy S9. I had one Disappointment.
||Posted .I kept my Galaxy S5 as long as I could. I only upgraded because the battery was draining in just a few hours. I bought several "new" ones for it, but none helped. Transferred all apps and pics and contacts, etc. Disappointing was my favorite game did not carry my 2700+ levels over (I don't think any game carried that info over). Had to start at one, again. My fear of this was the main reason I did not upgrade sooner. The S9+ is very fast compared to the S5. Of course, I skipped a few models in between, so it is more noticeable. I had it for a few weeks, now. It takes a bit to learn the vast amount that the phone has to offer. Actually, I find it is easier, or faster, to just use old methods as opposed to learning the new way, or the "new feature" way. As an example, I thought the edge panel would be very useful, however, I find I am not using it. I am accessing all of those things on it the way I did on my old phone. There is just so much more on this phone that I will be learning it probably until it's time to get the next upgrade because the battery will not hold a charge again. Or, maybe because the phone can't keep up with the new stuff that's put on it and it takes a lot of power (battery life) for it to even make it happen. Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is a super great phone. I heard a lot of good about it before I upgraded to it. Everything I heard was true.

Q: QuestionI already have an activ AT&T wireless account with an S6 that I got through AT&T on their Next plan. It's paid for. Can I get my S9 from Best Buy instead of ordering through AT&T. It looks like it's still on the Next plan but the Best Buy price is better.
Asked by Tom.
- A:Answer The short answer is yes, as long as you purchase a phone that is AT&T compatible or one that is unlocked. When you look at phones online or in the store you will notice that there are brands/models of phones associated with each carrier (T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc). An unlocked phone (which cost more) is a phone that is compatible with most (not all) cell service carriers. I have used AT&T for my cellular service carrier for over a decade, but usually purchase my phones through BestBuy for the same reason as you; much better pricing for the phones. BestBuy will help you set-up the phone and connect with your existing AT&T account. Or, you can purchase the phone from BestBuy and go to an AT&T store and they will set up your phone for you. By setting up I, mean transferring your information over from your old phone to the new one and some other basics of the set up process. Of course, you can do the set up yourself if you know how. Hope this information is helpful ...

Q: QuestionIs the screen on this large enough to use as a book reader without going blind.?
Asked by EF1.
- A:Answer It is a nice size screen, personally I would say a tablet would be better for reading books often . The note has a larger screen might be better if you do not want two devices.
