Q: Why would an external SSD need to be refurbished? How do you refurbish an external SSD?
A: In this instance, with this item, the term "refurbish" simply means the item was unpackaged and used, then wiped and recertified, and put back inside its orig packaging. These SSDs are occasionally used by Geek Squad at a retail store to move data or temporarily store data on a laptop they are selling or fixing. Then they wipe the SSD, check it, and re-package it as a used SSD.
A: It certainly would! They typically come formatted as NTFS (PC compatible) but can easily be reformatted with Disk Utility to use as a Time Machine Backup drive or simple file storage.
Q: Does this drive have the original manufacturer's warranty? If so, what is that warranty, please?
