must have library piece, 70's influence pic

After all, it was a very real story line, with at times violent scenes, and nudity. I'd give it an overall number rating of 7.5 to 8, since I feel is an important historic film, and I found it a kick to watch.

A Timeless Movie Bringing Back Wonderful Memories!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you lived through the disco years then you have probably seen this movie countless times as I have. This is an absolute must have movie for all the disco-era fanatics !! John Travolta is at his absolute best as Tony Manero, Brooklyn's favorite dancer. The soundtrack, mostly headed by the Bee Gees, is fabulous. The Blu Ray restoration is marvelous. If you want a good look into the 70's disco nightlife and enjoy disco music and great dancing, then do not hesitate to buy this DVD....especially in Blu Ray format. This will make you think it's 1978 all over again !! Highly Recommended !!

The Movie that launched the Disco Era
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A forgotten classic. The Movie that launched the `70s disco craze, gave the BeeGees the recognition they long deserved and started the polyester pants, shirts and hair. Fashions have changed but Discos have disappeared and this movie reminds how much fun they were, the distinctive dances, fashions and an era all its own. Hey, who knew Barbarino could dance?

Quite nice.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mild DNR. Only has the R rated cut. PG rated scenes are part of the deleted scenes. Tony Manero (John Travolta) doesn't have much going for him during the weekdays. He still lives at home and works as a paint store clerk in his Brooklyn, N.Y., neighborhood. But he lives for the weekends, when he and his friends go to the local disco and dance the night away. When a big dance competition is announced, he wrangles the beautiful and talented Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney) to be his partner. As the two train for the big night, they start to fall for each other as well.
