A: you do not need to register the drive or get on the internet, you can use it like a regular drive, the other functionality are just extras

Q: Does this work with USB 2.0?
A: Generally speaking USB3.0 devices are downward compatible to USB2.0, maybe even lower. The difference is that they can only move data at the speed of the USB port they are connected to. But if you are loading from a USB2.0 port and restoring with a USB3.0 port then you will get the advantage of the faster speed. For example copying data or backing up from an older computer to a newer one. I hope this helps.

A: I used it for my PC, but it does come with a MAC version of the toolkit app to load as well, so yes it will work great with MAC.
Q: Does it come with a laptop back up software like ease us to do ?
A: I literally plugged it in and worked EASILY. Probably the easiest storage device I have ever used
