Q: Is there a safety feature to keep the speed down like I see on some other models?
A: There are 3 modes: Sports mode, Normal mode, and Eco mode (speed limited) Sports mode: red “S” icon (high power/speed but lower endurance) Normal mode: white “S” icon (mid-power/speed/endurance) Eco mode: No “S” icon (low power/speed but higher endurance), suitable for beginners. The speed limit can be set through the Segway-Ninebot app. Connect the scooter to the app via Bluetooth. Once connected, go to settings in the top right corner of the screen then select speed. Drag the slider to adjust the maximum speed. Place the scooter into speed limited mode by double-tapping the power button to change the mode of the scooter.
A: ES2-N or any type of scooter cannot be converted to gokarts, only the self balancing category like Ninebot S, and Ninebot S-MAX can be converted to motors for gokarts.
Q: What is the difference between the ES2 and the ES2-N please?
A: Good question! They're both under the same model, which is the ES2. They have no difference.
Q: Has anyone purchased for a child 12 years old?
A: Minimum weight for the rider is 55 lbs. The scooter weighs 27 lbs and reaches a max speed of 21 mph, which is pretty darn fast. Consider all of these things before buying buying this for a child. Rider protection (helmet, pads, etc) HIGHLY recommended!
Q: How do you brake? By pressing down the back wheel?
A: There is an electric front wheel brake and you put your foot down on the fender for the rear wheel brake. Both should be used when trying to stop quickly from full speed.
Q: This is an electric scooter, just to clarify? I don’t see a motor.
A: Its a rechargeable battery escooter, the motor is in the front wheel.
