Outstanding TV with equally outstanding UI
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my five-year-old 55” Vizio M55-E0. My Vizio had been an excellent tevelvision, though the SmartCast UI was clunky and slow to respond to inputs from the remote. Got by that issue by using a Chromecast device. When the t-con board went bad on the Vizio, I started looking. I was between Samsung, Sony, and LG. Ruled out LG based on user reviews of the UI (and previous experience of my own with a smaller LG TV). Reviews didn’t satisfy me on most Sonys, either. That left me with the Samsung Q80B and the Samsung S95B. That also put my budget all the way up to $1,800 for a TV, which I personally think no one should ever pay these days given the relative parity among TVs in a given size and class……..just too many cheaper options that are nearly as good. Still, I thought I was ready to pull the trigger on the S95B and then found multiple reviews complaining about the UI again. Fortunately, I came across this Sharp. We had a Sharp years earlier that had been stolen and it was a great set. Consumer Reports also used to consistently rate Sharp as the most reliable brand available. They were bought by Hisense in 2017, then Sharp bought the rights to their products back in 2019. So here we are with a TRUE Sharp TV again. I checked the specs and compared against what I was used to in the Vizio. Sure enough, it was pretty close, only really missing the local dimming feature. For less than $450 and with a 5-year Geek Squad plan for only $89…..I was sold (and I worked for Best Buy in high school and would never buy a service plan for most TVs since they were generally just a built-in profit upsell and could range from $200-$300, but for $89? Okay, no-brainer). Came out under $575 total and to my surprise, the TV is actually pretty darned good. No complaints so far and have to say that the Roku UI is superb. No longer any need for my Chromecast. It’s SO easy and fast (and though I’m quite tech-savvy, I LOVE simplicity and responsiveness). I’ll just say, I’m not regretting paying so much less than I was ready to and getting everything I really needed anyway. Great job on this set, Sharp (and Best Buy)! My only complaint is that the wall mounting instructions are non-existent and the bolts recommended in the manual are incorrect. It needs two sizes which it says are M6 x 30mm and ST6 x 8mm. Both of these sizes are nearly impossible to find and the ST6 is a self-tapping screw. You don’t want to use that on your TV. You need an M6 x 35mm with a 5mm spacer on the top two holes and an M6 x 12mm will fit just fine for the bottom two. The bracket thickness should create enough space for those 12mm screws to fit the shallow holes perfectly. Other than this minor point of frustration, you can’t go wrong with this unit.

Great Budget TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been searching for a TV for months, one that checks many boxes including a hefty discount. Also on that list is picture quality, size, HDMI ports, and interface. Sharp was not on my short list of Brands I wanted to explore (actually I forgot they made TVs or anything else anymore for that matter). I own a Samsung, Vizio M series, and Sony so I’m a fan of good picture quality. I love the idea of OLED but im not ready to drop that kind of money on a screen, especially when I don’t watch a whole lot of 4K video. This Sharp Roku TV is 65 inches (check) with 4 HDMI ports (check), has a great streaming interface (Roku) and is under $400 (check). The picture quality when playing the newer Spider Man game on my PS5 is phenomenal so I”m good. It connected wothout a hitch to my Samsung soundbar without needing a second remote so I am satisfied. And seriously a 4K TV for $300!??? That is awesome enough. Thank you Sharp and thank you Best Buy

Sharp 65" Roku Version
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lets get the "excellent price" out of the way for 300 bucks its a steal indeed. Picture is ok not good enough to be a primary tv, but man cave, bedroom or basement...yes. The speakes are firing down which can be both good and bad, good as in if its in a bedroom as opposed to rear firing speakers where it can potentially bother others in other rooms because speakers are bouncing of the wall. Idk what size they are centermeters i assume but i would recommend a center channel for sure, clarity is just not there, quite loud though if you need volume. There isnt many features in the menu like a normal tv, you cant get in there and tune it the way you want it, features are definately limited but this makes it super easy to use and your kid cant accidently turn some random picture quality option on that you cant figure out. It's so basic i guess they decided there was no need for a user guide cause there isnt one in the box. Im hoping the (ARC) feature i can find in youtube to help set up? I found that any tv that has a roku or prime or google option is not going to be a hi-end tv they are all about convenience which is great for me, im sure glad what ever spectrum did to get back into roku's good gracious, they did or visa versa. Had no clue sharp was bought by hisense, i guess thats why the remote works on my hisense in the garage lol. Again for the price i bought two, both for bedrooms. I do plan on hanging it and from what i read here on the board i must admit im a little concerned regarding the bolt sizes, yes thats plural, apparently they are two different sizes, whats that all about?
