An unmanaged switch is a plug-and-play networking device that connects wired devices on a home network using Ethernet cables. Unlike a managed switch, it typically does not have a configuration dashboard or require you to set up network rules.

Connect an Ethernet cable from a LAN port on your router to an Ethernet port on the unmanaged switch, then connect the switch to power. Plug wired devices, such as computers, smart TVs and gaming consoles, into the remaining ports. A typical unmanaged switch does not require software installation.
