Complicated website
I love this game, but the website was so clunky it essentially shut down my computer. Instead of trying to lock you into other games, they should just provide a good experience. Like a typical engineer, something is not optimized until its so complicated it doesn't work.

Almost perfect successor to Civ4
Civ5 brings a lot of enhancements to the Civ franchise.
*Hexes instead of squares!
*Better graphics
*Lots of DLC
Some changes of which you need to be aware...
*No unit stacking! If you're trying to zerg rush a city with 30 infantry, well, you can't. You have to spend at least as much time in traffic management during a campaign as attacking.
*Ranged units like archers and cannon can attack from >1 hex away.
Some slight downsides...
*Steam account is required. Even if you buy the DVD, you still need one.
*Did I mention performance? The larger the map, the slower the game will run. The more units and textures you need to render, the slower your PC gets. I have a hexacore AMD with 16 GB DDR3-1600, a GTX560Ti and I run Civ5 off a SATA3 SSD, and turns after 1850 on a standard-size or larger map make the game stutter. I don't experience this effect with any other game. Now I know why Civ5 a testing benchmark like Crysis!
*Dumbed down cultural development and nonexistent religion development.
*Culture cannot help you take over cities anymore, and your' borders won't move based on culture either. Once an opposing civ gets real estate, they keep it unless you send in troops to conquer it.
This game is recommended and it's good, but pick up the G&K Expansion Pack because it fleshes out the game more and fixes some of the glaring oversights of the original game. The DLC is very good as well. Enjoy!

Great Game, fun to play.
Love the graphic even when I play online. like the music & sound. And way more intense then the last Civ I had.
