One of my favorite lens!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Happy with this purchase. Tack-sharp, and I love the bokeh. I use it for indoor portraiture mostly, with my R5 (w/ adapter). I use it for outdoors too. It’s not a light lens, but because of what it can do, I don’t mind the weight. Thankful that Bestbuy carry it. I trust their products and customer service.

LOVE this lens!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated whether to get this or the high end Canon equivalent. I was able to test the Canon at the same time I purchased this lens and I have to say, for a lens that is significantly cheaper, I feel I am getting better shots with this lens. The bokeh is amazing when shooting wide open. Beyond that, it is quick to focus, virtually silent and creates sharp, crisp images. I could not be happier with my purchase. If you are personally debating whether to get this lens or the Canon, I don't think you would be disappointed with this. Oh, here's another thing, Sigma offers a four year warranty for their lenses AND if you call them, you get to talk to someone quickly. They are a family based business and I find their level of customer service far superior to that of Canon's.

It’s a great lens!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely recommend! Top quality photos! I got this as a gift for my husband who was looking at the canon 50 mm lens...this saved a little bit of money...and while it’s a little bigger than canon the reviews I line show the sigma being superior. We’re really happy with it!

One of the best 50 mm lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is worth the money. It doesn't have weather sealing but it produces wonderful photos. Glass is really high quality. Images come out very clear. Produces pleasing bokeh.

Awesome PRO lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's cheaper than a Canon 1.2 and better than their 1.4. I really like the Sigma Art lenses for being super sharp and having good color, but like 30% off compared to Canon or Nikon. If I ever need another 50mm, this is what I'll buy again.

Great option for a cheaper, high quality lens!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sigma has never disappointed me and it isn't going to start now. I have heard some mixed reviews on Sigma lenses, but I personally have never had any issues and I won't back down until it personally goes wrong for me. I love this lens!

AMAZING!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have rented Sigma lenses in the past and ended up loving their performance in comparison to the Canon L series lenses for half the cost! So sharp, vibrant colors, etc. We now own a Sigma 30mm, and now this Sigma 50mm. 100% would recommended to any photographer who wants great quality, without having to spent too much money!

This question and answer was generated by AI based on customer and product data.Q: QuestionI just did a major upgrade on my nikon d5000 and switched to a canon d6 mark ii. I can only buy ONE lens. I will mostly be taking pictures of my kids, but want a good in general lens. Should I go with the 35 or 50? Is the sigma the best under $1000?
Asked by BarefootHomesteader.
- A:Answer I would go with the 50mm it will give you more range. The 50mm is also a great portrait lens. The 50mm is a good walk around lens and would be a good way to go with only one lens. I hope this is helpful. Sigma lens have become very competitive with other major brand lens. I now own several and love them all. The ART line of lenses is incredible. Check out the comparisons on Utube. They also come with nice cases. Not always the case with Canon. The price is also better than Canon lenses
