Q: Does this have to be connected with an Ethernet cable?
A: Yes. All HDHomeRun devices require a direct connection due to the bandwidth requirements.
Q: DOES THIS DVR OR RECORD FOR VERIZON OR SPECTRUM????
A: No. You may be able to get HDhomerun Prime to work for you but not sure. This device is for OTA signal. Way of saving money.
Q: Will this work with comcast DVR service?
A: Likely not. This is for over the air TV with an antenna.
A: Unfortunately not. All HDHomeRun products require an ethernet connection to a router. Additionally, HDHomeRun DVRs can only take signals from HDHomeRun tuners. You can't use a Samsung TV tuner with an HDHomeRun DVR.
A: The HDHomerun has to be connected to the internet to work.
Q: Can I connect this DVR to output (to TV) between the sat.rcvr and the my old tv set?
A: The HDHomeRun SCRIBE QUATRO is designed only to work with Over the Air TV. You plug it into an antenna, and then plug the other end into your internet router. It is also designed specifically to make Over the Air TV available on your network, so I won't connect directly to your TV. Instead, you plug something like an Amazon Fire TV Stick to your TV, and then use the HDHomeRun app on the Fire Stick to play back and record television.
A: This includes a 1TB harddrive, which allows for hundreds of hours of recording built into the device. It can actually be combined with your CONNECT QUATRO to give you 1TB of recording, plus 8 total tuners.
